Tesla bolt or shield?

Hey guys I have a MK4 speeder and am currently in the 600-700 Imfamy range. (Don’t hate I’m not that good for a mk4, at least I’m FTP) I was wondering if I should use Tesla bolt or Tesla shield. (They are both level 10 rare) Tesla bolt is good for single target assasination but I sometimes need Tesla shield for escaping a large crowd or charging in.

What do you guys think?

PS: if you really have to choose between the two, I'd go for Shield. Better protect yourself than trying to protect teammates, who will destroy the Stun and will constantly make your 20s cooldown weapon totally pointless. Even though Shield will be broken, it still can block tons of damage + from my own experience, people don't shoot at speeders with stun that much.

The best build at the moment is probably OB+Nitro. Both Tesla Bolt and Shield have really long cooldowns, and for very little effect at t1.

Though, to answer your question, I always felt the Bolt offered better protection, as it protects you from Torpedos, and you can also use it to stun Fixers to stop them healing, and Stun other Speeders to stop them Nitroing away. However, the cooldown nerf has really limited it’s usefulness. It’s still ‘good’ in some situations, but it’s probably not good enough, often enough, to deserve a slot.

Tesla Shield kinda sucks at a low level. By the time GCD has cycled, the Shield has almost worn off, and you have to wait another 20 seconds to get it back. It’s just not very dependable.

 

There is no point in getting used to tesla shield at mk4,since at mk5 you can't equip it without wasting a yellow slot.So i would go for bolt, from your two options.

However you need to save tesla shields for mk6, It's the best 2 slot item you can use for 4YYY in Mk6

None. Use nitro ob+nitro. Bolt is trash below T3E and with ob or nitro you will be sitting duck easy target couple shots will blow you. Use ob+nitro.

 

Ok trying out nitro. I have 3 epic intros ready to go on the speeder!

 

I meant I have three duplicates of the epic nitro for evolving. I’m using overboost and nitro for my yellow items
