Ban for farmers - is this the right path?

Hi there,
So i noticed that in the recent hours most farmers got a temp ban
My question is: do you think it's the right path?
I, for once, think that is a super lazy move on rovio's side.
Why tweak the sistem if you can simply ban people?
Bottom line is: players will be banned but gameplay will always have its flaws

 

I think it's great they keep a watchful eye and ban people. Tweaks will always have ways to tank and do what they want todo and tank anyways. (War Robots tried several tweaks and things just got worse) Bans however when done enough (temporary is nice) shows people "Hey why not play as it is intended" marvelous idea!

 

War Robots never did anything to fix the problem. They only said they did. The reality of said changes only encouraged spending more money on game. Having a gear level based matchmaking system while obviously most sensible creates a stagnant growth problem with players finding a comfortable tier to stay in. Thats why Battle Bay and now WR use similar league based matching. Rovio does a far better job with keeping players around 50% than Pixonic does but both come with the same deleveling exploit abuses....

 

I think it's dumb to ban people for dropping in infamy... It's like banning someone because a hole or problem that the game has. In clash of clans when people dropped in trophies did they go banning everyone??? No, they found a way to penalize people through the game mechanics not by simply banning. I agree, it's a lazy response to simply ban someone for capitalizing on a flaw in the game

 

I'm sorry, buts straight up ban is entirely the wrong approach.

The fundamental underlying issues that need to be resolved before a ban are:

1. Why are they exhibiting unwanted behavior?
2. How can they be warned this is the wrong path?

Here's the thing. Everyone knows this game is a big grind. If a loophole exists in the game, it is up to the developers to fix it and players to abuse it. Banning players without changing anything is masking the symptoms and not the illness. These farmers likely believe they are justified in their actions, and why shouldn't they? Banning them even temporarily without any warning or even announcements will make them hate Rovio.

Imagine if you tried the same stunt in real life- punishing people without warning for their actions, without giving them a chance to work things out or correct the underlying problem. (Hint: 99.999999% of people don't join a game initially just so they can troll or lose)

 

Yeah it's the right path because those people are selfishly messing up the game for people who aren't loopholing. And in fact the whole farm strategy relies on the fact that most people play the game trying to win not lose. Or else everyone would be at zero. So basically they are the people who say IDGAF about these 4 other people, I'm going to work this loophole to save ME a little time. Not the sort of behavior to be encouraged in a team-based game.

Eh, they should've known that losing on purpose over and over was going to get them slapped. And they certainly 100% knew they were screwing over 4 other people trying to enjoy the game without those shenanigans. In my experience people like that just move on to next crap they try to pull. Good riddance.

 

Here's the thing, banning is not the best way, but it still helps the problem slightly.It isn't necessarily a "path", more like a quick stop of the bleed.

Imo to come up with better solutions helps the problem more than judging a quick fix.If rovio thinks banning is the ultimate solution,however, they deserve an outrage .

That aside , here is my solution .
+0.5stars per game(easier star gaining)
Starbox price raised to 20

BAM!
Just hire me already.

 

I'm not condoning their behaviour, but I'm saying that at a certain point it's normal to use loopholes
I just hope that, after this iron fist stunt, devs will work on fixing the problem!
