I have a suggestion to make(more like a bug fix) about the guild rivalry.
Can you please make a matching system based on infamy exactly like for the normal matching games with a protection gap like it is now for fleet.
    To explain more in depth.
Lately our guild witch is ranked 2622 with an infamy of 13968 is matched with guilds mostly ranked in top 1000 and infamy between 25k to 40k. I might not be a maths teacher but the numbers dont add up. Your matching system in the guild rivalry is broken.
    How to fix it.
Same as normal games. You don't get a nightmare league player with 5k infamy playing a 1k infamy normal player. Use at least that system to match guilds in rivalry.
Thank you for the time spent to read my sugestion.

Infamy is the way in which battle contribution is judged, and thus battles are set up based on infamy. HOWEVER, guild contribution(achievements) is judged by QUESTS completed, which is only too correct.

I think the problem with the current system is that the rivalries get too hard too quickly.

I think that’s bad because it encourages guilds to kick out their lowest contributors (usually newer low ranked players), rather than nurturing them.

It also encourages sandbagging, and frequent disbanding of guilds, which is the opposite of what it should be.

I think guilds should probably have thier own infamy system, so that you end up winning about 50% of your rivalries, like with battles.

    That is totally WRONG.
From my understanding you don't give bonuses for better placed guilds in rivalry if you don't have at least a decent matching system. I don't have 1 lvl 4 epic wepond in my arsenal and you want me to finish quest as fast as somebody with lvl 5 ones? Because lets do not forget, time is to take in a count here too.
To draw a parallel what we have here is matching guilds like you will match football teamed based on how many gold they scored last championship not by how many points they made.
So you get us a fourth division team playing against a champions league team.
Doesent make send anywhere in the world.

Basically the system sees you beating guilds down and gives you tougher and tougher challenges every rivalry. It leads to an analogous problem as conventiomal infamy-based matchmaking, in that you get matched up against people with better gear than you. Eventually you MUST lose, since youve simply gone too far above what you are naturally capable of.

If you did this according to infamy, it would be similar to the reason as to why we don't have "gear based matchmaking", in that you would never get a challenge if you're already top dog among the guilds of your range.

And is that making any sense to you?
So let me see if i got this right.
Because we won a few rivalrys now we have to loose a few just so the top dogs can feel better about them selvs?
And all that is with no chance at all to compete. Its just a be present and be a looser kind of situation.

Now do you see why i made this sugestion.
Because its frustrating to come home from work, opens your game to relax for a while, play with your guild mate and that game make you a looser (witch for some of us it gets frustrating) fom the start, no questions asked.
Now the 2nd thing is. Why do i pay vip subscription for a game witch makes me a loose whith no cjance of combating that.
And 3rd, how do you supose this game will have a future it the new players get matched with the top dogs insted between themselves.

Now i dont want to debate anymore how and why the rivalry matching is broken but i would like to know if it can be improved and if yes, will it?

This week my guild had zero chance of getting first place. It was obvious from the first day.

We’re up against a guild of 7 players, all level 40+ mk6s, and they’ve already about finished more quests than we’ve ever managed.

I have some active players in my guild, but a lot of them are mk3s and mk4s, who just wouldn’t be able to keep pace with these guys, even if they played all day long.

In previous weeks I’ve ended up completing about half of the quests myself, and even using the wrong weapons, I still end up being the biggest contributor on many quests. It’s just so much easier for more advanced players to burn through quests with little effort, and I think that’s quite unfair on new players, who might be putting in a lot of effort, yet they’re still being steamrolled by top players who are basically sandbagging.

I absolutely don’t want to be the kind of guild leader who kicks out active and loyal mk1s and mk2s, just because they can’t contribute enough, but I think that’s what the current rivalry system encourages.

When you do pull out all the stops, and play your ass off to win, you just get rewarded with an even harder rivalry the following week.

I can understand what you mean by making this suggestion, believe me, I was a member in Yagerbombers, a top 100 guild... Sucks to get second place or worse.

Just think about the noob guilds at your average infamy who can only clear three boards where your guild can clear 4-5. They might be a bunch of casual players, but this also means that they are gonna lose EVERY time against guilds of your caliber. Will it be fair to those dudes?

See, like infamy, guild progression is like a coin toss as well. Nobody likes losing, but it is bound to happen. It's unfair, but provided you get more rewards with more contribution, second place or worse isn't so bad now, is it?

I think your suggestion might cause many to quit, not because of "progressively harder" questing, but because of "impossible right off the bat" rivalries, where guilds with a certain infamy rating will have to fight with guilds of the same rating, prompting all manner of exploits and contradictions.

For example, if I'm a NML player wanting to exploit the system, it'll be EZ. I'll bring over 4-5 NML players and stock the rest of the guild with beginners. This'll make my guild average infamy similar to people with all Master league players. The 5 NMLs will demolish everyone, everytime. Unchecked.

The current system does not allow this in any way. Does my point make sense now?

Yes i undersyand. Thats what we are the noob guild that bearly clear 3 bords and our rivals are on bord 5 in day 3.
Thats why im making this post. We and i mean a fair few at lvl's 20-30+ with mk3-5 cant compete with lvl'40+ with mk6-7.
    So how is this fair?
Regarding to the exploits, im assuming that once you know them, a counter or fix can be found agains them. (Smart people usualy do find them)
From what i can see its just that you(by you i mean the developers) like it as it is and that's that.
So if that is the case im closing all my contributions and uninstalling the game. I cant see a point why someone will start playing this game.

    why do u wanna know?
we get you bro, maybe come back sometime if the game ever gets better
another thing, can't guilds say this rivalry tryhard and knock quests out get 30 done
because rivalry mm based on quests done, they get put against a harder group next rivalry
there is no point trying so the chillout for a week get 0 quests
next rivalry they get put into lower rivalry group then they can destroy again
the cycle goes on, thrash one rivalry, chill one, thrash one, chill one
this is a way to exploit the system, do people do this?
if they do, what is being done to counter this?

So many people getting het up on rivalries :(
The guild that destroyed you on board 5 when you can only clear 3 boards will be moved up in the next rivalry, and you will face others who just cleared 3 boards which will be more fair.
Also if you focus on the amount of tokens you get from clearing the boards, it is more than the winning prize anyway.
So we focus on as many quests as we can, and if we can place in top 3 its a bonus.
Rivalries are tougher, but this is the whole idea of the new system.
Before it was changed we had several rivalries where was was the only guild completing quests, easy wins but so bloody boring!

None of us "like it as it is." As long as something feels totally unfair to some, we have to look into improving it.

That said, I cannot conceive an idea where NML players wouldn't be able to exploit the suggested system. But who knows, maybe the devs will find a way to incorporate the best of both systems...

Maybe the answer is similar to how it is done in clash of clans. Before guild rivalry week the guild chooses 10-15 of their players that are going to participate in the "war" that week. This way the system can match up determined by the strength of each team. It would also give the leader the ability to bypass temporarily inactive players (ie. On vacation) or really low mk1 players that are growing with the team. Players that participate get the ongoing rewards for completing the quests (for doing the work) but the whole team would get the end rank win rewards. Not sure if it would work but the same sort of factors are at play in clash of clans and those match ups seem fairly balanced. Just a suggestion.

Overall I dont expect to always win. We are a newer guild to the scene and we have been able to be competitive even with the higher guilds. However it is pretty ludicrous that we are a guild ranked in the 3000s trying to match the pace of a guild in the 300s. Im proud of what we are able to do but it would be better if we were matched with guilds with similar potential so that our win was based on skill and effort instead of losing simply because we were out gunned at the start. I think that is where the frustration stems. We know its impossible to win every game.
