Battle Bay Tournament

    Hey Everyone,

    I am pretty new to Battle Bay Forums, and in no way an OG player. Been playing for only a year. I am curious how interested would the top players be into participating in a tournament? While I might be fairly new to the Battle Bay Scene, I have run and managed multiple tournaments for mobile games (Vainglory and C-Ops) and would enjoy doing the same for battle bay. Obviously Battle Bay is a different game, as ones power is something one grinds over time, but seeing the best players team up would be something I would enjoy.

    If you would like to see such a tournament streamed live on twitch and youtube, let me know. One area i do need help with is reaching out to top players to get them interested. Here is how i see the tournament structure roughly being run.

    Top 16 teams will be selected (based on combines player ranks).
    - Double Elimination Bracket
    - Best of Threes
    - Maps are banned till 3 maps are left, teams play the three games on the three remaining maps.
    - All ships and weapons can be used (banning these will be to hard for a first tournament)

    The goal is something fun and easy that shows what top tier players can do when on a set team. What do you all thing?

    There is currently another group running tournaments, called Baewatch. I'm sure that more tournaments could be done. No offense to them, but I didn't particularly like the spectating and commentating from the last one. I'm sure it's just because they are new to it, but there is an art to commentating.

    I have Seen P0rthos videos and he is amazing. He is basically the Voice of battle bay atm (IMO) lol

    If all ships and weapons can be used, is it fair if one guild using rare items vs one guild using Tier 5 Legendary items?

    What Battle Bay needs is a private mode where All Legendary Weapons are free to use, and Ships are maxed out. Since these games would have no rewards associated with them, there is not harm in letting people play with higher ranked weapons as a test, and will allow teams to be more balanced. A private mode where Teams get two minutes to select their ship and weapons, such a mode will allow true skill to be tested cause as it stands Battle Bay is first and foremost a Grind Game.

    For now, players who have maxed items will likely be at the top.

    We asked for that awhile back. I'm sure that the devs have thought about it, but it might not be the highest priority right now. I expect this next update to be a doozy, so let's just see what it brings.

    A mode like that would make tournaments much more interesting.
