Guess I’m an infamy tanker now...

Just in case you thought it couldn’t happen to someone legitimately trying to win every game, here I am at -800 (though I’m actually about 1k below where I was before the February nerf).


And just in case you don’t believe I’m trying. Here is the defeat that got me over the line...

Only mk5 on my team, and doing fully half of the damage, with one gun.

I imagined I’d be more salty about this, but actually I’m just beyond caring at this point.

Just thought I’d share, because it’s still pretty messed up.

 

Aww, that sucks . Do you have a fleeting partner? Find one, that could help.

 

And always fleet with someone at the same infamy as you, as matchmaking counts both members of fleets as the highest infamy in order to avoid cheating which would result in harder matches if you fleet with someone different than you.

 

I’m not too worried about climbing back up. I just seemed to have bad luck today with my matches, lots of floaters, lots of matches against fixers, etc... which is to be expected, bad luck happens.

The problem is, my ‘normal’ infamy, is not 2900, that might have been my normal infamy, before they added +10 extra seconds of cooldown onto my ship. I don’t know what my ‘normal’ infamy is now, possibly around 2500... so it really doesn’t take that much to put me below the line now, and start getting penalised.

This is odd. So I thought I might switch back to Blast Cannon for a bit and see if it helped: straight away I get a game with a floater and lose again *sigh*

But anyway... after that (now with even lower infamy) I get top damage, and it puts me 4th and gives me 1 star.


Then next game, I get top damage again, I do even more damage, and I’ve raised my infamy, but now I’m back to 5th and 0 stars. Weird!

 

Yeah I do not understand either

 

Having spent more than my share of time being penalized for having bad luck, I have had many matches where I got 1 Star. I believe the penalty is actually 2 stars - not all 3 - so if you would normally have received 3 stars for that battle you will now get 1. If you would normally (as in non punishment times) get 1 or 2 stars, now you get 0.

This is just based on my observation though - have never seen anything official on this topic.

 

If It understood it correctly, you lose the "win "star but not the "contribute above average" and the "contribute above 2x the average" ones

 

Some times from the start of a match, or even half way through I get the red lag indicator of death and I know from replays even if my connection doesn’t time out, that I end up a floater
Or it times out and I log back in to see my floating corps how often to ppl get reported for floating and it’s not really thier fault?

@Cavy If your connection is so bad that you regularly become a floater, I'd argue that it is your fault. Do something about your connection or play games where it doesn't affect other people on your team.

 

Am waiting for the nbn roll out to reach my area don’t know how long it’ll be but for now it’s the best I can get in my area
It holds up decently most the time but at least once a day I get a connection time out
And no I’m not gonna go play candy crush Miathan

 

aw feels bad for you dude yeah nbn customer service is pretty trash they took yonks to set up in our area we had to pester- i meant call them multiple times to bother them enough to do something about it

 

Yea it rarely happens to me, but I think we are all occasionally disconnected or we let our phones die lmao
