Blast cannon/Explosive cannon and flare gun

Hey guys, I’m new to these forums. I use MK4 speeder, and am level 23.
Here is my question.
Why do some people prefer Explosive cannon and flare gun instead of Blast cannon and flare gun?
Right now, my blast cannon does much more damage than my explosive so Idk why people use the Explosive+flare combo. Maybe I just underleveled my explosive cannon.

People preferred EC over blast canon because of its higher burst dmg over blast canon and higher range but after last to last update the EC range was nerfed and it's cooldown was increased by 2.2 sec due to which it has lower dps than blast canon.
And ec was preferred because speeder or defender had 2 slots to spare so why not higher burst dmg i.e use ec
Rn EC is not in a better position than BC so I would recommend you to use BC.

 

Right now explosive cannon is only viable if you plan to run it with sniper, since blast and sniper talents conflict alot. However, since you're a speeder and you can't run 3 weapons, yea no reason to use explosive, just go with blast flare.

 

Don't forget that Explosive Canon causes area damage, which could be significant when enemies are grouped together.

Explosive Cannon in a speeder is far, far better than blast cannon in terms of damage. In a speeder, flare gun + EC
is a deadly combo. However, in enforcer, you can`t use explosive, you have to set flare+double blast. So:
-Speeder: Explosive
-Enforcer: Blast

And don't forget explosive cannon is better than blast at the end game, levels 40-50.
At your level, use the blast but keep your explosive.
