Cheaters roam free in Battle Bay

Hi Everyone,

Last couple of days I have seen a lot of cheaters in Battle Bay. They openly discuss in the in-game chat rooms how to cheat or to lower their Infamy. When you say something about it then they laugh you in your face or get angry.

There are a couple of players (sadly I may not name and shame them here) who are so angry at Rovio and the matchmaking, that one of them decided to as he called it 'suicide himself for 100 battles' and he did, because I heard some people who saw him in battle.

I have also been adviced to lower my Infamy, to make my life easier, because I was playing (according to some) above my league / level. He said 'oh well, I do the same. I float or let myself killed quickly. So I can lower my Infamy and get easier battles'.

And I have heard it so many times, that I now understand why I lose so many battles which we could easily win. Some move 5 meters from the start of the battle, fire a few shots, so they don't look like floaters, but they are. I have seen them in battle. Move 5 meters, fire 5 torpedos and then suddenly stop and don't do anything. If an Unfriend comes close, they might fire a shot or two just to pretend they are active. But they don't even bother to move away from the shots or mortars. While others head on their own to the Unfriends to get them killed in seconds, so it looks like they are seriously playing, but NO. The rig the game to lower their Infamy.

It is plain and simple, these are cheaters. I have reported some of them, but they come back again (of they got banned at all) and laugh at you again and brag about it.

We can blame the matchmaking for this behaviour and matchmaking is not perfect, but this is just not the way! Because losing on purpose is ruining the game for the other 4 Friends, who most likely lose, because of just 1 person who is angry or wants the game to be easy.

I think the penalty for cheating should be easy 'close their accounts'.

Or am I too harsh?

I believe the actual penalty for this is permaban. I think that'd be an appropriate penalty once they fix the reward and incentive stuff. As it sits right now, I don't particularly think it's fair that they created the game the way they did and then say, "Yeah, but pretend we didn't and play as hard as you can."

If they don't want high levels farming the noob zones then perhaps the noob zones shouldn't be dropping epic loot?

I'm a game design genius.

 

There should be some mechanism that is more real time for punishing the cheaters. For example, in one match if you are reported by 4 friends, you will be ban for 10 mins.

 

Yes I report them and also the ones which are telling they float on purpose or letting themselves get killed in a heartbeat.

I had several players today which started to play by the time all others were killed, then they moved a bit fired 3 shots and then they stopped playing again and let themself be killed. These are also pretenders, just to avoid to get reported for floating they play a little bit, but they hardly move and fire a couple of shots. It is so obvious. And now I understand why this player with a mk6 was in my battle with mk4s. He is taking the easy road.

some people might play while they eat. Maybe their parents took the device away from the poor child and so the child cannot play. Maybe you play at work for a break and you have to go back to work or else you will be fired or something.

And if they play while eating, say chips... their hands will get coated with artificial stuff and it blocks the screen and the joysticks are messed up. Dont ask how I know.
Maybe the user ran out of battery?

first, its a game, we players can play it whichever way we want. second, cheating means using botz ect... you can make a game environment that restrict player decisions or actions, but you can't tell players what to do nor what not to do.

if suicide is the way player want to play and it is not legit, it's rovi's job to fix their game preventing people doing it. you blame the wrong person kid

In that you are correct. This is where common sense & fair play come into effect, both of which have obviously gone over your head.

You’re right, blame the victims not the perpetrators. We all know matchmaking isn’t the greatest, but maybe...and stick with me on this....if everyone ACTUALLY played to win, just maybe, matchmaking might actually not be so bad. As it stands there are so many players trying to manipulate their infamy it’s no wonder it’s so broken. And a self justification like yours does nothing but compound the problem.

 

Of course, all are possible. Permanent ban is too much.

 

all banned players should be listed in a hall of fame so that they 'll feel a bit of shame. all floaters should be banned and listed as well.

 

I agree the system isn’t perfect, however, I’m not going to beat a dead horse on that. But, isn’t that kinda the end result we’re looking for, tougher matches? I’d take a hard fought loss over a cakewalk win any day, but maybe that’s just me. Sure steamrolling the competition is great fun, but I learn nothing from it. And watching a teammate nose dive into the unfriends as I spam together is just disheartening. I still play to win, regardless of how other players play. Just wish that was how everyone approached it

 

Hmm its true like hell There are too many Cheaters and floaters It Kills the Game too much it needs to stop like really it really needs to stop this madness haves gone for 2 long ! Am I'm right???

You can bagatalize everything, but this game has been designed to play together with others. If that is too much to ask, then well maybe this game is not for everyone. If you play football then you just cannot walk away either, so in a computer game you can? Yeah you can, but it is not about you, it is about 9 other as well.

When I know dinner is ready in 3 minutes, simple maths then I don't start a new battle.
