    Some shooters play it. It also works on defender.
    There are also a few people who use it on speeder really well like Gnu.

    If you want my opinion, the carronade was designed for use against speeders and other close range fighters. It does heavy damage up close (to targets with low armor) and even slows the target's movement and turret agility. I've seen some players use them on speeders, but the amount of speed you have to give up, both passive and from actives, creates a huge hamper for the class and is not advised for low or even mid level players.

    Take this as, you may use the carronade on any ship you like, but I would not recommend it until mid level, or even high level for ships that rely on speed.

    It looks like it was intended as an antispeeder conditional weapon, but ended up being most usable on the speeder lol.

    According to Wikipedia, use it on fixer!

    It was my fixer weapon of choice from mk4-mk6
    Serves two purpose.
    1. Makes speeders go away and sometimes stay away.
    2. Limited range means I am focusing on healing.

    It helped get my mk5 in to nightmare.

    I honestly thinking carro is best suited on speeder. Damage is very high you just need to get close and this is the best thing speeders do. Carro has more advantage against low defense classes. With a well builded carro you can easily kills fixers or dominate yellow ships in 1vs1. In high levels carro reaches so much damage so you can deal with shooters too. Defenders are tough ships for carro but still can deal satisfying damage. @PastelPiku is right you need to be high level for using it. Here two of my games, a win and a lose:
