DevReply Mortimer, Sinklair and Blastian upgrades "Increase Area Damage"

    This upgrades the blast radius or the effective damage?

    Do these upgrades effect all AOE weapons? (Mortars, Missiles, Grenades, Torpedos, Ex Cannon)

    Yes. The area of the radius expands and damage amount grows.

    The talents increases only the damage not the area. The talent says "Increases area damage by". Not "Increases damage area by".

    Tha would be sick if that's how it worked! I just always assumed that it would only affect the specific weapons on that particular training tree. Meaning if you trained and selected the "Increases area damage" on Mortimor's tree. It would only affect mortars. But I'd love to be wrong! ;) Does anyone know if this is how it works or how the OP explained it?

    Good to know considering I'm currently training Blastian on this talent. I misread it as increase in area rather than damage, but it does correlate with the equivalent +5% point-weapon damage increase. I'm not completely sure which version would be better.

    How I understand it...

    Training such as Mortimer lvl4... "Increases area damage by 2%"

    Provides damage boosts for ANY AOE weapon. Mortars, mines, torps, explosive, grenade, missiles...

    Training such as Dr. Buzzkill lvl 17... "Damage boost for point damage weapons. 2% more damage."

    Provides damage boosts for ANY direct hit weapon. Std/blast/sniper (not explosive) cannon. Carronade, Railgun.

    I always wondered if it was worth choosing it in mortimers talent tree if I dont use mortars.

    So if I train my Mortimer and Sinklair, is my explosive cannon going to deliver 88% of the base damage instead of 75%? Did I understand it right?
    Are napalm and fire bomb also affected? I'm guessing they are but, can someone confirm? :D

    Napalm and fire bomb are affected by area damage talents. I think for explosive cannon, the area damage talents affect both direct hits and splash damage.
