Does Nitro make you immune from cannon dmg while it is activated?

Lol no, it only makes you faster so it might be harder for cannons to hit you.

No, but 99% of people will miss a speeder when they are in the middle of using nitro. If you use a sniper you have to lead your shot like half a screen.
If ONLY we had 1st person Replays like I suggested a long time ago, I would be able to show you how hard it is to hit. Oh well :(

It just seems like sometimes it gets activated when my shot already basically hit them and they defy physics or whatever. It even shows the shot hitting them. Like literally I feel like some people wait until I actually shoot to activate it, even at close range, knowing the nitro will give them like an immunity or something as soon as they press it.

If anyone can show me a speeder getting hit by a cannon shot within like the first second after hitting nitro I would really like to see it.

In my dreams. In real life it just makes me hard to hit. Good and/or lucky gunners hit their target anyway.

Heh, part of the fine art of being a delicate little speeder is hitting that freakin' nitro button just before you hit your shoot button. I'm still learning the timing but I generate a fair number of very close misses... even from sniper cannons at point blank range. I'm sure in lag conditions some of those would've looked like hits to you. Take heart because sometimes it looks like a miss to me yet it tags me anyway. I've been "hit" when I was clearly around the corner.

From my side, I see blow animation from the shots and then nitro, - 0 dmg in total.

I know, it does not make speeder immune ... But while fighting a dancing enforcer or Speeder on nitro.. There hell lot of unregistered shots, which quite irritating

Bingo. From the server's perspective, the Speeder has already hit his Nitro and is no longer where your shot hit. Your phone renders the cannon impact because it's doing client-side prediction and says "from what I see, I should hit" but the server is the ultimate authority on what happens, and that's why no damage is dealt.

I occasionally use a nitro fixer to do guild quests but I'm not a pro with nitro.

What I am wondering about is the scenario of: player shoots at nitro user, after player shoots at nitro user, nitro user reacts and hits nitro. This seems to provide zero damage to the nitro user from that shot, even if the player is shooting at them from very close.

Basically like a dodge button in a fighting game, and somehow the Battle Bay physics are tweaked to allow a window to activate the dodge button even if the shot reaches the nitro user. So what we really have is not necessarily lag, but more often a game mechanic at work. This explains what I have experienced as well as what has been reported in this thread.

As far as I know, it's never been really acknowledged that nitro will allow you to dodge a bullet from point blank range after the gun fires, like Matrix style or whatever.

The above is incorrect based on the quote below.

    Once again:
Client-side prediction is used to mask latency; it doesn't remove it. Just because your client thinks you scored a hit doesn't mean you actually did.

This is why low latency players (40ms ping) will win over high-latency (600ms) because by the time you've spotted me, half a second has already passed, I fired and connected with my perked out Explosive Cannon, and your shot never hits because omae wa mou shindeiru.

Lol um to be clear ate you actually saying that "client side prediction" is responsible for showing Earel me shooting at him? Here's your chance to walk that back.

    Here's the quote:
Is Earel the one you're shooting at, or is he referring to a separate scenario? Because as far as I can read from that, he's taking the shots, not receiving them.

    Post a replay tag.

Seriously dude you have this MVP tag and can't understand the plain meaning of words? Maybe now you should close the thread since you don't have a leg to stand on.
