Free crate box idea

We all like free rewards but as most players will soon realise the free crate becomes useless more or less once your boat is decked out with uncommon "green" weapons

im currently using an arsenal of rare's "blue" items on my boat and get extremely frustrated knowing every time I open that box I know I'll end up scrapping all the parts in that box for more common items to add to the endless sea of thousands of common scrap that will most definitely not get used

So with that in mind I think it would be better if once your boat is decked out with a certain rarity it gives you the tier below that here's the example

A boat with all uncommon items the free crate gives common items
A boat with rare items gets uncommon items
A boat with all epic item gets rare items
And lastly a boat with all legendary items gets epic items

 

I just want to be able to transmute some parts into the next tier. Like 1000 common -> 100 uncommon parts. 1000 uncommon -> 100 rare. So on an so forth. The common scraps from free box would help then
