    This feature has caused me to miss more shots than I care to admit.

    I like the aiming mechanics once you are locked on to the target with the lock button, but I’m tired of prepping my torpedo shot for just beyond a wall to have my reticle snap to somebody waaaayyyy out of my range and behind cover and just shooting my torp into an object.

    There needs to be an option to remove the auto-snap completely (or scale it down) unless you hit the “lock-on” button. Then you’ll snap to the closest target to your reticle. I can swing my turret around on my own.

    This issue is also worse now that I’m using an Enforcer because of how quickly I jump off target with the turret speed.

    Edit: It seems that my thread was hijacked. :p @The Grim Repair... just to be clear.. I'm specifically talking about snapping the crosshairs to the targets, not the vertical aim assist feature..

    Edit 2: I edited the poll to differentiate between the two different aim issues that are relevant... the first being the vertical aim assist, the second being the snapping the crosshairs to the closest target (without using the lock on button). Please select one poll option for each.

    I agree. I've been using enforcer for quite a while now and it's so annoying to jump from one player to another, especially when they're out of reach, when I'm chucking a grenade or mine in their direction

    Specially with tops and grenades.

    Also another thing it could be improved is giving priority to near by targets. I don’t know how many shots have I missed because the enemy was in the lower part of a wave, I was on the top and the aunto snap just changed target.

    This last update helped to hit people from down/up of a wave, but it didn’t fixed the auto snapping other targets involuntarily.

    I think somehow this last update made the snapping worse. No evidence to say so. But I’ve never noticed it like I do now.

    Agreed. The amount of aid given for aim in this game is absurd. Auto-snap to targets, auto-lock onto targets, auto-cycle between targets, auto-horizontal and vertical adjust for targets, indicator for if you can hit a target, range indicator (is that all?)........

    I think one of the devs must have potato-thumbs. :p

    Given the current state, I question calling this "aid". If I could turn it all off I'd think of it as "easy mode".

    hahahaha. I've thought this on multiple occasions. It almost handicaps the best aimers and helps the worst aimers. Making us all about the same.

    I have missed quite a while flare shots or Blast shots because I can’t seem to control the auto lock when trying to aim, when I use enfo and the guy I was attacking runs away (because of my Opnesss) behind a wall, he magically disappears and I was gonna fire in that moment it changes to a player far away and it messes my awareness a lot, come one you if I look somewhere I don’t want to shoot a guy 20m over the max range in the side of my screen...

    I personally am not a fan and would like to suggest we have the option to toggle it on or off. I would also like to know if it has helped anyone so I’m adding a poll to ask if it has helped or hindered you.

    Vertical aim does need some tweaks. I know I don't have to adjust the aim anymore to compensate for the height but I do it so many times out of instinct while in the heat of battle. It feels stupid to miss a shot when enemy is right in your face.
    Imo we don't have to shut it off (toggle). We could adjust it so that vertical aim will assist up to a certain distance. I like the aim assist while sniping from far. It makes taking shots easier from my speeder. But in close range if unfriends are sticking together the target just goes crazy.

    I didn't know how to answer the poll. I dislike the vertical aim assist but it doesn't apparently hurt me. Something ELSE has changed in the targeting system and that hurts me a great deal. I really wish we had a "don't try to help me" setting. I can manually target lock when I need it. What I do not need is my camera bouncing all around the bay in semi-random movements.

    I want them to go back to before the patch on targeting but I don't think it's the vertical aim that's the rub.

    I take that thing, shrink it down to the size of a pimple and flick it up to the to the top left of my screen. I just wish that when I am focusing on a target in the game, the circle or little aimer tag will light up green and I can redirect its attention by swiping down or something.

    @Miika https://replay.battlebay.net/WZXBRMLD#HTHQMPDK. Need to only 20-30 seconds of video. My first Railgun shot snapped out of that enfo to target a shooter which Far behind. I missed it, this happens a lot. Auto-aim needs work. I myself have been using sticky targets since long, But players are forced to be dependent on it now...

    I feel like this is only frustrating when it occurs during a manual aim with the right thumb stick. At least it is the only time I notice it...

    My proposal: disable auto aim while the aim joystick is active. If you're aiming a mortar, repair bolt, etc. and your thumb is active in that stick, the auto aim feature should not try and switch targets.

    Side note: I'd like the arrows for cycling through lock targets to be available without locking first. Hate when you want to shoot the fixer behind another target but aren't sure about the range and the auto target sticks to the ship in front. A one button tap would be nice.

    3 simple fixes.
    • Add an unlocked target snap toggle in the settings.
    • Add a vertical assist toggle in the settings.
    • @Visout 's idea about disabling target changing when you're already aiming with the joystick. Simply disable target lock if the target becomes invisible.
