I just need to vent for a minute. And in case there is any confusion on the matter, let me tell you that you don’t gain any points for HIDING or otherwise AVOIDING the Battle. In this game, every hesitation can lead to disaster - and you lose. Not only do you lose, but you cause everyone on your team to lose as well. And there is no advantage to retreating from battle. You are more likely to avoid being hit if you are moving forward - mostly because moving backward is slower than moving forward. And god’s sake, if you have a weapon available to shoot, then shoot it. Don’t wait for your “favorite” weapon to recycle, this too is a cause for disaster out of hesitation. And as far as that goes, please don’t sit there watching to see if the mortar, or cannon ball, or toro you just shot hits its target before preparing to shoot again. Once you have released the projectile, there’s nothing more you can do about it, so just move on to firing your next weapon. You’ll destroy the enemy faster if you do just that one thing. OK? ok.

I have the opposite vent from a fixers point of view.
Please stop sitting out in the open, your a sitting duck. The enemy will see you as an easy target and you will go down fast. If you do find yourself the focus of attention dont think you can sit and soak it up, move out the way and find some cover. And don’t stand there screaming help and do nothing to try and save yourself, if that means I have to put myself also out there to help you then sorry bud your on your own. You made your bed now lie in it. I shall pass my condolences on to your next of kin. I am not going to let the rest of my team die just to keep some idiot with a massive easy target banner flying above them alive.

Also at the end when it’s 1 v 1 and you both have 400 health why instead firing your blast cannon that’s all good to go, do you think I shall try and fire bomb them first. Seriously they were 1 shot away from death and now your burning in your wreckage but not even learning from your mistake.

As a fixer, I feel your pain with this post.
At the start of the battle I spam "together" to try and get some order, but there is always the rambo shooter who is steadily floating toward his doom.
No matter how many negatives and togethers I spam, he is going alone.
He has watched one too many Youtube vids and thinks he is capable of single handedly taking the whole team down, and as a fixer you have to support the 4 logical players or support the 1 crazy mofo, who like you say is often dead before the first minute has passed!
I wish we had a command for stop! get back with the ability to tag a player, although they would probably ignore it anyway :D

LOL, there's a guy in my guild named, "StopHidingTeam". It didn't take me long playing Battle Bay to understand why he'd use that name.

I don't understand this because I rarely have an issue with teammates trying to protect themselves, it's always the opposite with someone going out into the DMZ too early and dying leaving my team under-manned. Taking out 1 opponent isn't always enough either because the boats responsible for kills (particularly Shooters/Defenders/Enforcers) need to make up for the support boats like Fixers and Speeders.

I fleeted with a Fixer yesterday and noted that after 3 losing battles, not a single on of our 9 teammates had a kill (I had 1 per battle, which obviously wasn't enough). I don't know what the other 9 teammates were doing but it was frustrating. I the 4th battle we finally won, but our 3 teammates still only accounted for a single kill... yet our Fixer had 2. Things settled down after that, but I was paying particular attention to the individual contributions and in every battle because inevitably the 5th teammate, always a Shooter or Defender, had issues a single shot's worth of damage... no apparent suiciding, just ineffective. About a third of the time the 4th teammate was similarly ineffective. That's a good 25% of all my teammates not pulling their weight, and usually not protecting themselves enough to contribute to the battle in a meaningful way. When I see someone last to the end of the battle and finish people off that's the one I want to fleet with in the future.

This has me wondering if Rovio is using bot boats to fill up teams. There has been a stead decline of game players in Battle Bay since I started some time ago.

I've played from the standpoint of both the enforcer and fixer and I have to say, all ships could use a speed buff. The length it takes for some players to make up their mind and go somewhere is ridiculous. And the speed of their ship doesn't help either. As a fixer my team almost always spits up so I go with the players with more hp or infamy and when the other ships try to comeback to me for heals, it's too late since they're too slow and get pummeled before even reaching my repair box. As an enforcer I like driving ahead but have to wait for these hesitant shooters or defenders to inch forward so I have backup when firing. Sometimes it takes 30 seconds up to a minute until the first shot is landed onto the enemy team since players are so reluctant to move forward and I find it ridiculous!

Besides Wayward Pains and Chill Zone, the average battle takes 1 minute, about 20% of the match, for teams to make contact. 2+ fixers on each team can make this take up to 2 minutes. We're too slow for sure, and we don't have enough health to feel confident in our decisions about where to go, not without stacking shields, thus limiting our selection of blue items.

Maybe some new maps that allow safer early contact would help expedite contact... so many maps if you are the first player the enemy sees, you will be mortared to death by 5 enemies in seconds. Even yellow boats are at high risk... they have the speed to escape, but not necessarily enough health to withstand the barrage without a fixer to return to.
