flare vs tesla shield

    So me and jaws decided to test out the flare vs tesla shield bug. His flare deals 90 dmg over 19.5 seconds. Assuming it deals 90 every second that's 90 x 19.5 = 1755 dmg. My shield is capable of absorbing 1682 dmg so flare should have broken it but it doesn't. Possible scenarios:
    1. Flare doesn't deal 90 every second but rather sth like every 1.5 seconds. This would mean it deals 90 x (19.5 / 1.5) = 1170 dmg which wouldn't break shield.
    2. Calculations don't take into account duration perks. Base duration is 12 seconds which deals 90 x 12 = 1080 dmg and if crew talents are included its 90 x 16.5 = 1485 dmg, both of which do not break shield.

    This shows there is a flare bug when it comes to tesla shield.
    How it was suppossed to work verse how it is working ... is the issue.
    Miika explained that flare how it should work on tesla shield is base damage x duration. Equals total damage. This total damage hits the tesla shield at one time. And if it is higher than tesla shield h.p. shield should break.

    My flare should have beat Styx's tesla shield every single shot.

    Please fix this bug.

    Jaws, why not use all duration for maximum total dmg?

    I could. But do like damage perks for other weapons.
    More important here tho is 1755 should beat any epic maxed V tesla shield. We got a bug. Worthy of an instant fix :)

    Good job fellas. Although I don’t think it will be fixed quickly. Still waiting for box launcher crit talent to be fixed that Tubbsz and I proved to be broken and Devs watched our videos. Hopefully both will be fixed in next update!

    I've noticed my grenade burns for 5 seconds but only gives out four burn damages, the last second doesn't give any damage (assuming burn calculations it does 150*5 = 750 // but it actually does 150*(5-1) = 600). Maybe flare does the same thing; which would subtract 90 and bring it below the shield. Idk what that .5 would do though.

    We look forward to this bug being fixed.

    Our community is in big talks about how Op double tesla shield has become.

    This bug being fixed will allow players another way to break tesla shield.
    It always was intended to work another way to pop tesla shield. But is "not" working.
    For me as a defender this is like fighting with my left arm tied behind my back. U know my shoelaces are already tied together. I am a defender. Lol.
    Fixing Bugs should be high priority when it involves balance for ships. Enforcers with dbl. Bubble are getting extra help by This bug being here.

    So with respect. Requesting much haste to this fix.

    Random thought: damage from fire isn't consistent second to second. Doesn't the RNG come into play? If so perhaps that's the variable.

    I found out the answer from pm to dev.

    To remake unnamed.

    Flare is only currently doing damage time base duration. It isn't calculating perks.

    This is an intuitive mistake.

    Devs will need to look into this big issue to make flares calculate base duration plus perk duration into math.

    This is why such the confusion. And why so hard to calculate which tesla shield it will break and which it wont.

    A solution should be made asap.

    Since we already had nerfs. To tesla bolt Cool down and ex cannon cool down. 2 items used to break shield.

    It's Time to fix the flare to count all duration including perks.

    Most of the bay thought this was how it was. It's wild to find out it isn't calculated into total damage.
    Perks should count.

    Looking forward to the solution intuitively solving flare verse tesla shield. Adding perks into equation.
