    So this comparison is done with t1 epic sniper, explo and blast. All have 2 perk slots.

    All cannons damage boosts
    15+10%

    Sniper

    Base dmg 114
    Base crit 5 %
    Base range 40

    Talents
    Dmg 15+30%
    Crit chance 10%
    Crit dmg 50%

    Perks
    2 x 7,5 = 15 % crit chance

    Total = 163 dmg, 30% chance, 50% dmg


    Blast
    Base dmg 166
    Base range 22
    Base crit 1%

    Talents
    Dmg 15+70%

    Perks
    Dmg 2 x 8% = 16%

    Total dmg: 324


    Explo
    Base dmg 198
    Base range 25
    Base crit chance 1%

    Talents
    Dmg 15+50%

    Perks
    Dmg 2 x 8% = 16%

    Total dmg: 344


    100 shots at sniper’s base range 40
    Explo 0 dmg
    Blast 0 dmg
    Sniper (70 x 163) + (30 x 408) =
    11 410 + 12 240= 23 650 dmg

    100 shots at EC’s base range 25
    Blast 0 dmg
    Sniper 23 650 dmg
    Explo (99 x 344) + 688 = 34 744 dmg

    100 shots at blast’s base range 22
    Explo 34 744 dmg
    Sniper 23 650 dmg
    Blast (99 x 324) + 648 = 32 724 dmg


    So with this comparison total damages are
    Sniper: 70 950 dmg
    Explo: 69 488 dmg
    Blast: 32 724 dmg

    And this is a sniper-favoring analysis. It doesn’t take into account projectile speeds, leading required, the range increases etc. But if we take just base ranges and do 100 shots every meter

    Sniper: 40 x 23 650 = 946 000 dmg
    Explo: 25 x 34 744 = 868 600 dmg
    Blast: 22 x 32 724 = 719 928 dmg

    So in total sniper does 78 000 more damage AND has more range AND has better projectile speed AND is easier to land.
    I don’t know about sniper users, but this feels op to me.

    Edit: Added 2 8% dmg boost perks for blast and explo, evened out a little bit

    Yeah... I don't think it's possible you can shoot 100 times in a game so that's probably not a good basis.

    Also, some dev correct me if I'm wrong, the critical chance for sniper works independently for each shot. Which means that I will not have a crit 30 times in 100 shot but instead, I really just have a 30% chance for each shot.

    It’s a pure dmg comparison, ofc it couldn’t happen in a game. But it gives us stats about their dmg.
    And you are correct. 1 shot, 30% chance that it’s a crit. I just made it easier to calculate the non-crit sniper hits by taking 100 shots (because 1 % would be equal to 1/100 crits).

    I voted to keep it as is but I can completely understand the calls for slowing down the projectile a bit to force players to aim it... it is kind of ironic that the longest range weapon in the game requires the least player aim of all weapons. I wouldn't complain if the max crit chance is dampened a bit either.

    Who told you that the damage from cannons should be the same? If the sniper has less damage, it will no longer be called a sniper, lol. And you did not take into account the waves, and stupid damage in a straight line.
    The sniper cannon is taken primarily against the speeders, suggest replacing the sniper?

    And people have seen why speeder want sniper nerfed.
    Whatever stats you pull doesn't change The Fact people don't want it nerfed. People are smart they will choose what they want they won't listen to anyone above their personal interest like you are not listening above your speeder domination interest.

    The word "sniper" comes from a bird of the name "snipe". In the British Army, a person with the degree of precision of aim that is required to shoot down a snipe was known as a "sniper".

    Ironic.

    The verb "to snipe" originated in the 1770s among soldiers in British India in reference to shooting snipe, which was considered a challenging target for marksmen.     No, but common sense (clearly something that you don’t want to use or don’t posess) tells me that the cannon that
    1. Is easiest to shoot
    2. Has longest range
    3. Has fastest projectile
    4. Is unlocked at mid-game to its full potential
    5. Has only 1 small drawback (low arc compared to other cannons)
    Shouldn’t also do the most damage!!! And against speeder i suggest:
    Learn to aim with blast, explo, rg, etc. And speeders could be nerfed all you want! Just create a thread and share your idea!

    If your comparing it to actual world then actual sniper gun have high damage(one shot kill), high projectile speed), shoot becomes easier closer the target is...
    If you suggest any option without compromising these, i m all ears

    It's drawback is it heavily relies on chance. If your shot doesn't crit, you will only deal a small amount of damage. You forget to mention that.

    So what you are saying is
    ”I don’t care what the facts are, you are just a whiner”. And nobody wants the weapon they use get nerfed. But facts are facts, unless you have some alternative ones.
    And i know your point is that sniper shouldn’t be nerfed but where are your facts to support that?

    I think it is interesting to see that people still wish to see the speeder nerfed further.

    Speeders are a torture to learn. They get good at mk4, EXACTLY in time to get scarred with the first speeder lesson. You have 1.7k HP. From across the map, there's a noob with a sniper cannon who can take away 1k HP without any effort at all. Life as a speeder is rough. You're gonna face the second roughest path that there is to follow. People are gonna ask for nerfs looking at the top of the pack, completely ignoring the suffocated atmosphere that is Master 2 for a new speeder.

    But we speeders are resilient. No matter how many nerfs to our setups happen, we can go toe to toe against superior opponents. We're predators by nature, people who will be cussed at for killstealing. We know all that. It's the path we accepted when we first stepped into the cockpit of that little yellow boat called the speeder.

    What we did not sign up for was getting our opinions snuffed out by people playing other ships. "You're a speeder. Suck it up".

    No. We won't. Not this time. The sniper cannon is OP midgame. The people I taught the ins and outs to, about speeder, are getting twoshot with 1k damage crits. FIX IT.

    Every time we speeders raise the simple fix of spreading the talent tree(which everyone seems to be okay with, by the way), the conversation gets derailed by some dude reacting to a personal attack by another dude.

    Please just debate one thing.

    People are complaining but I find sniper cannon well as it is, the problem is that cannon crit chance has to be reworked ! As it is right now crits are a percentage and not a real hit, for example yesterday, I landed a blast cannon shot on a burning speeder very accurate and at the max range over a wave and it critted for 1900 ! That was very satisfying because of the hard shot, and it was a real “critical hit” because it was on a much more difficult angle than I usually land, so what I think cannons should have is a percentage based on the difficulty of the shot. When the annoying Nice shot appears and it was an ez shot the crit chance is increased a bit, but when it is a “nice shot” a “long shot” and it was difficult it has to be a 45% crit.

    In sniper increase of crit (in this system) means that the “ nice shot “ is a 30% crit and the “long shot” + “nice shot” would mean a “crit kill”! But it shouldn’t crit when I’m up close and personal with a a shooter because there is no ability required to smash the fire button

    I run a "glass cannon setup". I'm nimble, 1.6 speed. When scouting, I instinctively know when to nitro and dodge sniper cannons. I use the waves to conceal myself from sniper cannons. I ride upwave in close range to such a person, since sniper cannons don't aim upward by much.

    I have 3000 battles worth of being beat down by punks with superior gear since I started playing speeder.

    In my early days, the mk4 I used was a weak little 1.7k HP machine, that regularly got twoshot with 1k crits in the beginning of the match. I don't wannna see new speeders quitting because of this, and I thus requested the spreading of the Bhurt tree so that the sniper cannon doesn't gain it's full capability so early.
