Why Isn’t Everyone in the Top 50 in Nightmare League in Mk7 boats?

Well I have to say, some people aren’t a high enough level to get a Mk7 boat yet, also some of those MK6 players, have played many more battles than their Mk7 friends, and that some people just chose to stay a Mk6 even I don’t know why, but I hope this will help you!

 

Probably because you need to be captain level 48 to get one, and that takes years of training, or a lot of cash.

 

If the ship info post is right then there's so little difference between mk6 and mk7s (and it doesn't lay out the drops in peripheral stats you always get with an ug) that I'd be spending my gold on pinks to upgrade items rather than saving for a new boat.

 

And don’t forget about the mk7 models being bad looking isn’t almost all ships!

 

Long term you need to upgrade MK to progress. The post you refer to is just another in an endless stream of people blaiming other things than their own efforts for losing games

 

In a game of margins like BB, the difference is huge.
For me going from mk6 -> mk7 shooter would give (i'm only lvl 42, so it's like 6 months off, doubt I'll play that long...):
780 more HP, 5 extra defense, faster speed, faster tracking, tighter turns - with no disadvantage..

 

I think it's usual that speed, turn rate, and turret rotation decreases with a ship upgrade. We can normally counteract this by adding more (blue) items. None of the mk7s have extra slots if the ship info thread is correct.

I'm cap lev 40 and have held off upgrading my fave boat - Defender - while I level up my STD shield so am only using the info available in the forum to make an opinion.

 

You're almost right, since mk7s are the only upgrade that only influences stats, and it increases ALL of them, for every ship. HP, defense, speed, turning rate and turret rotation all get better by upgrading to mk7

 

There is always an advantage of not upgrading your boat. As soon as you upgrade it, you have opponents with similair boats level.

 

This doesn't make sense talking about the top 50 players

 

Mk7 unlocks at 48. Can you find 1 example (in the top 50) of a player who's higher level and still in a mk6? If not you have your answer.

I wasn’t aware that the mk7 increased base stats. I always assumed it worked like the previous mks (increasing max stats and reducing base).

So if it’s any consolation, I’ve learned something new out of it.

 

It does. If they get opponents with MK6 ships, which obtained them not that long ago, probably there gear is not maxed out.
It is better then fight with MK7 ships, which for sure have better skills and gear.
