Tips for shooter setup

    I always use a Big Torp with my shooter build.

    When I reached about the same infamy as yours (which was not long ago) I replaced the bandage with a big shield. I find that bandage is useful for ships that spend a lot of time away from their team/fixer, like the speeder, but shooters usually stay with the pack. At least that's what I do when I play the red ship. Besides, in the high 1000s infamy, I really felt like I needed the extra health (I also upgraded to Mk5) because snipers crit at 1000, big torps and berthas often do 1000-1200 dmg, and X-Cannons/blast cannons often are in the 800 dmg range, so with your current health, you're just 2 hits away from dying. The other team will often notice it and take you out first — which could be real quick with only 1811 hit points.
    Other than that, I think your set up can work just fine.

    1. Please get yourself a mk 5, dude. Because, capable as you are, the league you're heading into has shooters that can and will two-three-shot you.
    2. Please consider a snipe+ex+FB+LRM+rialgun(?) at mk5. If you are a full brawler, you don't need the sniper cannon. But it looks to me as if you are a hybrid, meaning you're statistically more likely to end up in long range standoffs, which the sniper cannon is better at as compared to a blast cannon.
    3. What's your anti-speeder combo? You need a good one to end a speeder who's getting too close. Actually, you DO have a good one right now(FB+double blasts) but, as I said in point 2, you need at least one sniper cannon with you for long range engagements. Due to the clash between blast and sniper talents, you'll have to pick one. Meaning you'll need a new "killcombo", should you choose to run a sniper cannon.
    *Phew* anyway, let me know if you want to use a sniper cannon in the future, please.

    Hey there, i think the setup in point2 exceeds the max red slots an mk5 has. No i don't intend to use a sniper, i like how the BC is able to shoot over waves and also because rngesus has never granted me a single sniper. I do most of my damage with my BCs, but since my hp is so low, i tend to use ma team mates as extra hp by playing around them. For the "killcombo" its my BCs. 2 more levels and ill get mk5, add in my EC and i think ill stick with that setup while i farm epics in ace. Not using any epic reds for now because i don't have dupes for any. Yeah if i dont play around team, or make just a lil mistake, i just get melted XD( hehe sucks since every game im the only mk4 against all frigging mk5s ) Oh and i also have a mk4 enfo thats why i don't mind going the BC way :)

    His setup is of assassin's type n not sniper.
    If he is good at projectiles then it is good for him to use mortars. It is not necessary to use torps, I know a shooter who use 4 mortar n a BC on his shooter

    As the game progresses mortars get less and less effective unfortunately, and 4 of one weapon type often makes them very weak.
    Much better to have a balance, the amount of times I see a 1 vs 1 battle and then the guy on our team has just torps or just mortars and has a speeder stuck to him with a flare gun / BC etc,
    Yesterday I had a shooter on my team with all 4 slots used by mines :(

    I know I'm using 2 snipe+2BT+ST setup on my mk5 but I'm saying that if this guy is really good with his mortars then we should not force him to use a torpedo plus he is mk4.

    Nah i don't rely on mortars, any ship with a decent turbo is able to dodge them easily.

    This situation is EVERY BATTLE for me. Down at my infamy it's quite common to see shooters with only one cannon and the rest mortars/torps/mines. It's frustrating as heck watching my own team but I sure love killing these guys on the unfriends. They have little or no defense against a cannon heavy shooter.

    Nice setup :)
    1. Try to get mk 5 as soon as possible, even if you don't have enough items for it.
    2. Big shield > bandage until you get to really high levels (base health is important!
    3. Use your railgun or explosive cannon! I personally find ex cannon more useful. You can also consider a std cannon (my favorite)
