Bhurt skills 3 and 9 give you the choice between +50hp (each), or +10 points of damage, and +5% damage (respectively), for all cannons.

When I was still in my mk4 speeder, I trained both of these for hp, as I really needed the extra hp back then.

Now I’ve got over 4K hp, and I’m about to upgrade my Big Shield to t4. I’m wondering if it might be worth reconsidering these.

I think I would lose about 111hp (after multipliers), but I would gain about 40 points of damage on my BC taking it up from 705 to 745 (and probably about the same on my ExC).

    Is it ‘worth it’ though?

I run this "glass cannon" build, and it's a great idea. It isn't just 40 points to me tho; it's more than 70(burn damage added lol)

I think the choice is not very consequential at lvl 3. I mean, 50 hp is not much, but +10 dmg isn't either. It takes 5 hits per game to "get even" with the 50 hp, which is roughly what a typical player does with a BC on average, I would think. So it's a toss up, unless you usually carry more than one cannon — in which case you definitely take the dmg bonus.
At lvl 9, though, it's seems pretty clear cut to me. I don't know your infamy, but at mine (around 2000), a high level BC deals around 800 dmg. So, times 0.05, it's about + 40 dmg. You totally take the 5%.

I’m also around 2k (just started my 2nd season in Ace III)

The +10 certainly wasn’t much when I trained it originally, but it goes on to base damage ‘before’ the multipliers. Nowadays my BC multipliers are +60% (65% if I retrained Bhurt 9), so it would actually add ~16 points of damage.

The 5% only multiplies the base damage unfortunately. So even though my BC does around 700, I think it would only add about 24 damage, as the base damage is much lower.

Together, I reckoned that they would add about 40 damage to my BC. And probably about the same to my ExC. I do run two cannons, so it’s quite a big boost.

My only doubt, is that every time I’ve increased my hp, my infamy has shot up. So after getting my big shield up to t4, I would expect to start making gains again. But if I then knock 111hp off, it’s almost like losing ~7 shield levels, or a whole epic perk, which seems like quite a lot.
