We need an alternate red slot weapon

    We need another red slot weapon, more like an E.M.P that renders ships dead in the water for a few seconds, like speeders getting too close & doing the tesla on us slow shooters. Reason why, is that i have tried both the Speeder & Enforcer & found that the Shooter is very slow compared, but lacks a bit of defence in close up battle & can't get away fast enough. It might be different if i had an epic bandage but nothing has come up yet, only crappy rudders & lube. 1514175504919.png

    I suppose the stats would have to be worked out, but something similar to the effect of a frost bomb & visually it would look to be constructed similar to the tesla shield, but the energy would be pushed outwards at an exponential rate towards the area of effect, rendering those ships dead in the water for a short period.

    The shooter is the best ship though. But i think that all ships (except speeder) could use a speed buff. And an emp would be a great item though if it doesn't do damage it'll be classified as a yellow slot item

    Well not necessarily as you get bandage in a blue slot & duct tape in a green slot, so why not have an EMP in a red slot ? That way all ships have access.

    All red slot items do damage all green slot items shield and all blue items are passive either giving some hp over time (bandage) or more hp in general (shields). It wouldn't make sense for it to be a red slot item but it would be nice for something like that for all ships to have access to

    Your shooter lacks up-close defense and speed? That seems like a build issue more than a boat issue. I can tell you that I love it when over-eager speeders snuggle up for a dance. I'm heavy on direct-damage cannons and light on indirect damage torps/mortars/mines. I run a turbo rather than bandages or another shield. I have plenty of "up close defense".

    Still, very slow, turret is slow, turning this ship is more like a tug boat, but there looks to be improvement in the mk7.

    I agree. It is slow compared to a speeder (which I also love). But for a low-HP boat to want to get within easy hit-range of all those cannons is a losing proposition. I can't wait till I get M5 and my new E20 rail gun. Even up close that thing packs a wallop. Further out it adds to my speeder sniping choices. Are you running with direct or indirect damage weapons and do you equip a turbo? If you're running mostly mortars/torps/shields then yes, a speeder is going to feed on you. That's what I'm there for.
