Special Offer / Holiday Promo / New Captain Promo Mechanism Issue

Hello.

Speaking from my own experience , my friends experience and some input from thread regarding all promo, we have a strange conclusion that if we try to hold buying promo, the promo will came up again and better (sometimes much better) offer. Some ppl would be very very dissapointed so that they would rather be waiting for the next offer than just bought the standard offer. And even worse , the new captain promo even "evolving" like 3 times (each has better offer than before .

Imho we don't think this is fair for ppl who bought the first promo. They'd rather wait obviously. And they wouldn't know that they should be waiting for the 3rd one , even.
So when new offer come up (in my case is just 2 hours ago), now I really have a confusion whether I should wait for the promo "evolving" or not. And we're not sure whether it will evolving or simply gone.

Randomize (RNG some people say) item is one thing that would be luck based and still fair. But evolving promo is another thing that imho is not fair totally and create a confusion. Should I really wait until the promo evolving 2x ? or there would even be a 4th evolving ? or simply gone ? this is not a luck based thing that I would expect from RNG don't you think ?

 

If you see an offer you want, you may as well get it... no guarantee you will see it again. The current issue is that offers will be tailored to you based on your highest past purchase... so once you buy that $99 offer, you will not be presented with anything less than other $99 offers... a bad decision by Rovio's marketing team IMO. Maybe it works for them, but I don't think the offers are varied enough to entice purchases as much as they think they do.

 

Agree. Some my friend case , they bought $15 , and still presented with $7.5. (Less).

But the main problem is not that, it's about the "evolving" promo so it's kinda better to wait rather than buy the non-evolve promo. Then how do we expect to know which best offer will be ? Could you imagine how the dissapointment when you just bought the offer then arnd 2 more hours you know that your offer would have been upgraded for a much better offer.

And we believe from many cases that those happen to same people who did not buy the first offer , then wil be upgraded to 2nd offer , then upgraded again to 3rd offer.
Imho it would be more fair to give better offer to some1 who already purchase. NOT making the purchaser dissapointed and they would think 10x before they sure whether the offer will be upgraded or not.

(even I guess Rovio try to lure new customer making new purchase). Is it worth so much to get new customer BY dissapointing old customers ?

 

Sort of... what I said didn't have enough context since there are multiple offer types: Standard market, Special Offers, and Daily Deal. This IS correct, if you goto the daily deal Section. Every refresh shows only deals that cost 99.99$ if your most expensive purchase in the past is 99.99$. we are not saying that offers introduced through the new system is false but I have 100% certainty in regards to the daily deal. Also for the Christmas offer as well. "Special Offer 5"

Daily Deal: Market -> Offers -> The very left hand side offer that refreshes every 24 hours.

Problem: Every refresh is ALWAYS 99.99$ for 14,000 pearls and whatever bonus. (2 premium chest or 8 rare power cells or 230 epic parts or 2400 rare parts or 12000 uncommon parts or 1.4 million gold, etc.)

This is not that difficult to understand.

The price of the offer should cycle between cheapest to most expensive. What could be the problem here?

 

Think of it @Miika this way both the custmers and devs will be good,the customers are happy and satisfied to spend not so heavy amounts of money and developers get money more easily too!!Win win

 

Being stuck on 99.99$ is basically labelling every spender who has ever purchased the 99.99$ deal as whales who will continue spending large amounts. Completely ignoring the people who may actually be smaller spenders who simply spent big once because of the holiday deal or something. The judgement on their part is seriously hurting a customers options.

 

It works another way too. I'm a free player. I mostly decide to buy something because I've played the game for a while and decide the devs deserve some money. But I DETEST irreversible moves. So just like I won't rise up in infamy till I am absolutely certain it's safe to cross into the next league, I would never buy anything in this game above a comfortable price point that I'd be willing to repeat.

I gather the devs don't intend for it to work this way. That's good. For me, this is a huge disincentive to EVER buy anything above $6.99.

 

That is one thing regarding daily deals minimum $.

Do dev confirm this is true (because according to many many users it is), and how do we propose to judge which promo will be already the best so that we would be in deep dissapointment when we buy the promo ?

 

Good luck with that. The devs don't actually want people to know this.

To be fair, every business does special offers in this way, it's very common and very legitimate.

 

Something like old stuff going on sale a year later for cheap I can understand, offering offers only to an exclusive few is blatantly unfair.

 

What's your next plan now devs?
