New Game Modes Ideas Thread

    Can we have a mode called escort the payload.

    You know when your team works together to escort a payload from one point on the map to another. There can be check points along the map too.
    The enemy tries to contest and prevent you from reaching the checkpoint. We can also have like Best 2 out of 3. You respawn with a 10 Second delay in this mode.

    If there is one thing I believe people do not want to hear developers, it is that this game will forever remain team death match focused with a tiny bit of capture in it forever.

    cool! Mabye it will unlock at cptn level 10- 15 though?

    Yeah definitely, it will be unlocked at higher levels because these matches will take longer than TDM and will require more time dedicated players. But also reward a bit more to balance out the time played.

    There will be a radius surrounding the payload, if any player on the team pushing it is within the radius the payload will move forward. If no one is in the radius the payload will not move. If both allies and enemies are within the radius the payload will not move. If only enemies are within the radius the payload will be moved in the opposite direction back to the start.

    We have custom battle for that.
    We need a new mode entirely.
    Having exclusions is just moreso niche than anything.

    Build a race track. When you sink, you respawn at the starting line. Five on five races, first one to complete five laps, all five boats.

    Car wars but on the high seas.

    random doesn't necessarily mean weighted with custom you can only invite the players you are friended with...

    Oh by random i thought you meant non custom... like click battle and it says “no fire or frost this game”

    Regardless these ideas are not for infamy.
    I am trying to get new modes you can actually play for infamy ranking. You guys have great ideas but it's not suited for competitive play. I would implement those ideas by adding a search queue for non ranking matches. But my idea of escort the payload is a very popular mode for competitive gaming.

    In that case can we have a shoot the target game mode? It'll be single player with 10 players in total, whoever shoots the most targets gains the most infamy and maybe 2nd and 3rd gain infamy but less that first 4-6 stay the same and 7-10 lose... idk I guess 4 players losing is unfair but its an idea...

    I dont think that even that could be implemented without throwing the meta way out of whack. Game mods destroyed quake 2...

    You are not throwing the meta out of wack. It's creating two separate metas one for each mode.

    Problem is, you really cannot move the payload until the opposing team is destroyed to a man. Otherwise you are all sitting ducks same as in the capture zone

    Sorry I was explaining it really bad. Let me try again.

    For the team pushing the payload, all they need is at least one player in the zone for the payload to slowly move forwards. Having multiple players in the zones doesn't make it move any faster. If enemies are present in the zone the payload should actually keep moving. Only when there is only enemies within the zone does the payload move backwards. The enemy will will in all cases unless the payload reaches the objective. Each checkpoint extends the timer.

    Hmmm that does sound interesting... but id be more comfortable trying it if my infamy was not on the line lol.

    They would need new maps though. Most are designed to be meat grinders, not gauntlets.
