Defender weaponry

    I’m fairly new to BB and I have been using a defender set up with a sniper canon, trip torp and big berta fairly successfully. However, several folk on here say that defenders should not be equipped with any mortars! Why not?
    What is the best configuration in your opinion?

    If you like using a mortar, go for it. Just know that there are better options, usually mortars aren't suitable for defenders because they should be on the front line of attack, and mortars are an item best used for shooting over walls while staying behind cover. Up close weapons such as explosive cannon, flare gun, and blast cannon typically work best (torpedoes, grenades and missiles are alright too).
