Auto-renewing subscriptions?!

    @ Rovio - I feel this probably should have made it into the Patch Notes.
    @ Rovio - I would prefer if auto-renewal was optional, and not mandatory.
    (This post is also in the Patch Notes thread, but felt it was too buried on pg.14...)

    Just replied to you there also :)

    Subscriptions always auto renew unless cancelled, thats what differentiates a purchase and a subscription.
    It was in the patch notes:

    "Always" is clearly wrong in your sentense. A subscription absolutely indicates paying more than once for x product. But they do come in various forms, as in either auto-renewal (greed), confirm to renew (fair) and auto stop (a+ company).

    Auto renewal is typically used sure, as companies hope you forget to cancel so they increase their income.

    My sentence was correct, all Google Play subscriptions are set to run indefinitely, see here:

    Sorry I was talking about Google Play subscriptions, which I thought was obvious as that was what the OP was talking about?!

    "Subscription" being auto-renew makes sense. (I also see Kitt's point about notifications being a really nice thing for businesses to do...)

    I guess my point was just that I would still prefer to also have a "purchase" option if I just want 30 days and don't want to commit to recurring withdrawals every month...
