These perks seem worthless

    I see no use for these perks as they don't do squat & there are no changes that i see in numbers to what the shields do anyway, besides the shield hit points perks.

    They are good on defender, since it takes so many shots to kill it over time decreasing 9 from each shot is more beneficial than a hitpoint increase perk

    I have around 7500+ defence on my mk6 shooter & with a couple of legendary weapon hits or a few of epic weapon hits, that 9 points you say may help but the reality is it won't do much, even being an epic perk at such a useless amount.

    9×4=36, means you are denying 36 damage from hitting you every shot. Defence doesn't go away meaning if you get shot 9-10 times a match, you got saved from 360 or so damage. As a defender, 360 may not look like much, but considering you guys get shot, like, what, 12-15 times easy, and also have the inherent defence, which isn't small, means you are denying a THOUSAND damage per match for just one shield. Better than normal perks m8. It doesn't look like much, but for an assassin speeder coming for you, it's hell. Sheer hell.

    HP perks all the way,Because shield Talents and SHIP Hp(Crew training) talents both enhance it...

    Hp perk goes from 50-100(2times)-150(3times!!)
    But defense only 5-7-9(epic,even less than 2times the uncommon)
    That's why many guys say HP better at higher levels

    Outside of extreme cornercases (Carronade or tens of thousands of healing), HP perks will always outshine Def perks.
    ---
    Heck Id argue that using rare HP perks will be better than the epic Def perks.

    Its not just better at high level, its better at every level and for all boats.
    ---
    Epic HP perks provide alot more than 150 as all %health talents are added on top (both shield and boat talents).
