So, haven't been on forum for a few days, busy with moving preparations. But I had to come back again, why? Let me see...Players have been asking for a search button since soft launch ( should've been there from the start ). They finally gave us one, but I didn't need it till yesterday when I was trying to get in contact with some players I just had matches with. To my surprise, it wasn't working even though I knew I was spelling the name correctly, I guess I forgot to read the update note on the matter, so I asked in WC if anyone else had issues with it, they said no, works fine, but you have to enter the players tag, not his name. So I went "but I can't get the player tag without searching it because we do not see the player tag in the match result..." So you gave us a search button to search players that we didn't need a search button for? If they are not in my start screen, I can't search them? If they are not talking in WC, I can't search them?

 

I guessthe idea behind it was to allow us to search for people we know IRL. This was they can tell you their #tag and you can find them. It's not an ideal system, but it's new. Give it time. There are sure to be improvements

 

People have been asking for a search button to find players they played with specifically. That was the whole point of it. If you know someone in real life, you can just ask them to speak in WC and that's it.

 

Agree with this. Whenever I needed to add my friends I told them to go to Spanish server and said potatos are love, I would then add them

 

However, if you get to search players with their in-game name, popular youtubers and players (e.g. P0rthos, or MasterOV) will get flooded with invites. Actually, if you read the patch notes, this system has been added to prevent top players from flooding with friend invites.

 

Most games these days have auto refuse friendship applications, common gaming industry knowledge, they should hire someone from NA or Korea to show them "the ropes"
