Currently, floaters (intentional and unintentional) does not receive any consequence after floating the whole game which ruins the experience for the whole team. The best way to deal with them is to report which... does nothing really other than having a satisfaction of "reporting".

Reports are manually reviewed before any punitive action is taken, which is why it appears to "do nothing" when you report a player.

Reports do have an effect. Please continue to make them with the tag of "Floating" and elaborate in the text field if detail is required (eg: some players will do some damage so that they aren't visibly showing as 0-0-0 on the boards)

I wish we could get a response (even automated) that the player we reported has been given an action or something like that. Other games have that.

When i report a floater, I sometimes write in the proper text field things like "retarded floater", "idiot afker".
Sry devs, but I get angry

Yes or No is too black and white. There is a lot of gray here. I don't think anyone here can say they never floated a match. I might get a call, have my battery die, or have to bail on a game due to RL stuff. I would love to say sorry to the other 4 teammates but stuff happens. So it is not whether to vote yes or no for me, but my vote would be based on the punishment. I think the simplest first step would be to get zero reward, but how does the game know this? Easiest is if you had zero movement and damage, but im sure its just as frustrating when someone drops out mid-match, which I have seen and have happen to me before as well.

Why don't you post what you would want to be done with floaters for people to discuss. I think Rovio would want some auto feature that would address floaters for their own sanity as well as freeing up people who have to look at floater reports. There are many threads with suggestions like having a dead player take over their controls or having an AI bot run your ship if you are afk for a certain period.

One thing to be clear, a floater is completely separate from an infamy tanker. I am much more inclined to punish the tanker than the floater.

Yes they deserve the punishment. And they are getting it. mk6 at 600 infamy gets paired up with 2600 infamy players. But perhaps devs don't understand that by punishing one floater, they are punishing 4 of his teammates coz some of them lack basic knowledge on operating weapons and end up spamming mortar on walls whole game.:(

Heya - that is not going to happen simply because we do not disclose any potential actions against other players due to privacy protection reasons.
Every report is important and looked into - but there will be no follow up with the reporters.

Going to close this one down as the conversation itself is not really leading somewhere.

    To clarify:

    - Floating is not condoned
    - Please use the in game reporting feature
    - Please read our Fair play policy in the rules section :)
    - any post on public shaming will be deleted
