Why does nobody capture? I've won numerous battles because i had captured.

The main ways of winning the game is to destroy the enemy team. The capture point is a side-objective and it is used as another way to win. Many people only win by capture if necessary, such as the last person on a team is speeder. You’d require the capture point to lure him in.

Probably because there isn’t a way to communicate well with teammates and capturing needs good team coordination.

Restated better: the goal of the game is to win. Destroying the team is one way, Capture is another. Why teams don't capture more is a mystery.

One of my most fun battles to date was just yesterday in Damage Depot. We spent a lot of time volleying back and forth... my team had two fixers the other had one. For most of that time half of the enemy wasn't visible, but they managed to sneak 3 members into the capture area. The other two did a fantastic job of keeping the battle going, as well as one guy staying in the capture area perimeter which effectively deflected from the other two in the capture zone. Four of us had a heck of a time pushing into the capture area through the door because of the blocker, and that 3 of our 4 guys were mostly defensive players (2 fixers, 1 defender... so the offensive push was a little weak. When it got to 77% I called to stop the capture... we had no choice but turn from the main battle and push inside the room. The blocker was taking shots, and we finally hit the last capture area unfriendly at 95% or more, 2 ticks away from a loss... and then we cleaned them up. That was the most strategic capture-save battle I've seen to date... very exciting stuff with excellent strategy on both sides. I do wish capture strategy was tried more often.

Also I'd guess you are a speeder? Speeders are excellent with sneak captures in chillzone or wayward pains, or at least change the entire focus of the match... and as such they should try it more than they do.

Which discribes exactly why more people don’t capture.

Trying to win by capture often involves splitting your team, and sacrificing one half so the other half can sit and do nothing. It’s high risk, for very little reward.

What often happens is the first half of the team gets wiped out, because they’re outnumbered, while the second half of the team gets the capture to 80-90% before it’s interrupted by a LRM or FB... and then the second half gets wiped out too.

You get more battle rewards for sinking the enemy team... thats the only thing I can think of...

When you first start playing you can catch teams sleeping and capture. After noob levels it's generally not a good strategy to start out with, your position is known and you're sitting ducks, no element of surprise and you're not a moving target.

it's better used as a tool to prevent camping.
Your enemy team has a fixer and they're all camping sitting holed up together? Go to capture, one will run out from the pack to stop you leaving him exposed.

Also capture is 1% per second, so if you are by yourself it will take 1:40. 2 people are 2% and 3 are 3% per second. There is a 3% per second max, so the only reason to have more than 3 in capture is if you're taking fire then the person hit contribution is reset however the others are not.

A coordinated capture can work on boards like Foundry again where one team has a fixer and stays inside their little tunnel not engaging
