Hello, i usually move after most of the enemy position is shown on the map and my teammates r in the fight with them. I would usually flank the enemy or going around to behind enemy team. This have worked several time. My question is in what condition this move would work because sometime i seems to arrive too late.

And is it worth it to have a railgun?, It a great weapon for long distance damage but its hard to use it because of the wave. I end up rarely using it.

It depends on what boat you use and you’d need players that can stall them long enough without dying on your team to take the time to get around

This strategy mainly depends on the map!

This strategy would work best for speeder, as they can quickly move around the map and attack!
You should be fast enough to reach not so soon and not too late! As your team will lack behind in firepower in your absence!

This would work best on maps like wayward pains, crude awakenings etc
Terrible on sub zero and other open maps!

Talking about Rail Gun , it really depends on what ship and weapon combo you are using, can u please share a shot of your ship and loadout!

Shooter is slow and you can't really use it for this strategy, because they are slow(if we take the scenario of attacking from behind, it will take a lot of time for a shooter to reach the enemy team).

    Nice setup you got there!
Yes, Rail gun will fit perfectly in your setup!
As the other weapons will balance the Rail Gun reload time, and you will be able to utilize each weapon properly!

I won't suggest using the strategy of attacking from behind for your setup!

A mk5 shooter can be devastating if you stick together with your team and help them from the front , instead of going around and attacking!
Since you got tons of fire power there , stick together with your team and help them! :)

I once use shooter with 4 mines with this strategy. It is a suicidal mission but works very effective when the unfriends all stay together. Just burst into the middle of their group and put as much mine as you can. You will die but the mine you left will do splash damages. Normally it will do 5k+ damage per battle but it will get boring at certain time.

I try to flank them with my defender but we just end up going in circles :(:(.

I have tried to flank a handful of times with mixed results. You have to be completely confident your 4 teammates can hold off 5 unfriends while you sneak around, and then hope all the unfriends don't all turn on you in which case you wasted yours and your 4 teammates time. In other words, highly risky... and generally not recommended without a speeder.

Same here, I tried double turbos for a bit which helped but of course there's a trade off losing the hp from my big shield. It can sometimes be effective to make the big hits then run towards your teammates so they can deal out the damage while the unfriends focus fire on you, but you may not survive, of course.

Flanking can work great if your teammates are on the same page. If you're a speeder, flanking is sometimes used mainly distract. On a map like The Destruct, you want a couple opposing ships (preferably defender or shooter) aiming at you and possibly following you around the edge. This takes the heat off the rest of your team. If they do follow you around the edge, get out of there and focus on killing the other three with your teammates while the other two are slowly getting back into position. Flanking works great in Damage Depot when a couple opposing ships speed quickly to the capture area. Sometimes you can catch and kill the stragglers before the other team has time to react.

Flanking/attacking from behind works if you are running a fast Speeder, though a fast Defender can do it, too.

A Speeder with a Torp and a Cannon is deadly...especially from behind. The important thing, though, is to wait to engage until your Friends are in position. Just be ready to beat feet out of there because you very well could end up with ALL of the Unfriends ripping you a new one.

Same with the Defender, though Mortars and Cannons are best...maybe a Torp. You just have to use obstacles more. If you want to go kamikaze, a couple of good Grenades and a Cannon will do a LOT of damage and cause chaos...but you WILL die.

The biggest drawback from flank/attack from behind is when your Friends don't capitalize on how you disrupt the Unfriends. Ideally, they should surge forward and attack when you have the Unfriends distracted.

AoE is good, but you could also go ninja into the enemy team. Try looking at this montage of mine:
