I have noticed that the "ship" balance is slowly being tweeked.
What I mean is...they'll place predominantly shooters together or both teams having a fixer or if one team has 2 fixers, give the other team a fixer and tank, etc etc.
I have noticed that. As far as ships level and capt level and infamy...I agree, the process would take a good minute. Calculating 1 variable is simple. 2 is difficult. 3 would get complicated.
I'd be like asking someone to multiply 5x5...easy...now do 25x25...not hard but I'd take a little longer for some people...now do 525x525 (275,625 in case you were wondering)...you'd need a pencil and paper...
Simple analogy but you get the point.
I feel like the system does need a little bit of tweeking but when you take the sample size of 1,000 matches...you'll truly find that you were fairly matched up 950 of those 1,000 times.

Ah I dont mind that too much, yes I find mk2s way more than I do mk1s, I'm now in the 330-450 infamy range but that doesn't bother me much, so long as I have a good team and they have an alright team, it is somewhat fair because if you are more skilled, sharper, you can overcome the difference, or at least come close.

Losing infamy because of 2 people not doing a single thing, and the amount of infamy loss being the same, is a completely different thing though, that's what the main purpose of this thread was. To point that out. Though I'm sure most if not all are already aware of it

    Touche...

Here's the thing...it has been discussed and this is what I've concluded...
This isn't a one man/woman show. For the most part, there are no heroes. This is a team game. Win together, lose together. I get that someone can do amazing and lose or do nothing and win. That's part of being on a team.
So, if someone isn't pulling their weight in a match, do the best you can with what you have. If it's not enough...don't get discouraged, just jump into another match and do it all over again.
No one will win 100% of the time, just won't happen. Everyone losses sometimes and once we've all accepted that, the game becomes fun again.
I'm not justifying the actions of people who are afk or just generally don't know how the game works...but like I said, 95% of the time, you'll have a decently matched and fun game to play.

Yeah the higher I'm getting in infamy the less of those people I'm finding. Still, I suppose it would just be an extra effort to implement a higher standard of fairness for people who've just started the game, and for those rare times once you're settled in.
