Frost Balance Changes

Honestly, I feel the frost nerf was a little too much. I really don't care about anything but the change where attacking a ship with frost knocks the frost of. Just in the few days since the update, I've grown considerably tired of my teammates shooting the unfriends with something that doesn't even get extra damage for the frost. I use my launcher, then my mortar, only to realize that somebody shot it off with a sniper cannon ewww
And it gets frustrating.

And don't even mention the frost blaster now
Since you really only use the frost blaster close range, everybody hits them with a cannon or whatnot.

The rest of the changes seem fine
Just it would be nice if hitting a target with frost only reduced the duration, not get rid of it entirely



I just changed to enforcer and this is what I get :/

 

I have parked my frost blaster. Used to get multiple frost swift torp hits every game in my enforcer and now I think I have gotten one all night due to it being broken by a cannon, fire bomb, mortar, weak hit lamesauce.

 

Devs made it useful in just 1v1 scenario now. Frost dependent on luck and chance and not on skill of a player is total BS. Reduce duration or damage what frost breaking is not done. Frost is like fire use for enhancing certain weapons ability, does fire goes off when hit?
And the breaking of frost will take frozen damage perks out of play, why anyone will bother using those instead of damage perks because frost will be broken anyways atleast the user can get some extra damage with damage perks.

 

My torp never hits now untill it comes 1 vs 1 on battle arena ..if there'll be no changes for this issue I'll better change my strategy..now what happens is flare+explosive cannon (or) blast cannoned speeders strategy goes damn good most speeders changing there strategy from torp ..torp is dummbed while frost too DAMN.

 

We need better solutions for this issue rovio community.....

 

I'm a torp/blast speeder. I have never needed frost to hit my targets. So I don't mind the Nerf.
Maybe you could try aiming...

 

It’s not about the easier target, it’s the bonus dmg at least for me. My torp before the update did over 1000 more dmg when frosted. And that nerf killed the combo (exept from rubber duck)

 

Frost needed for napalm too, now getting less damage

 

I used to be like you at earlier stages, but later on the frost is 100% necessary for 1) the bonus damage and 2) to prevent dodging since people are more skilled the higher up and won't just simply drive straight/ predictably

 

I have developed my torp to epic t4 didn't have any other assist weapons I can't switch anything now playing with my dumb torp again and again( before update I used to hit every torp on enemy's and deal 3.8 k DMG when frosted without frost 2.2k )##now after update very rarely frost torp hits I couldn't help my team so well while it deals 2.8 k sometimes deals 3k DMG and without frost only 1.9k I'm at nightmare league because of nerfed torp I'm now nerfed ..rovio pls consider this req I'm mad I can't play game wellllll because of your new update now I don't even have chance fighting against mk6 speeders ..while its very hard against mk5 speeders I'm mk5 why rovio you guys doing this fix our all requests in next new update please ROVIO

 

Exactly and chaces are more than 90% that someone will shoot the frozen opponent accidentally not intentionally and storming in crowd of 3 to 5 players with negligible hp is just suicide at high end( its suicide in any sort of league).
Make frost dependent on skill and not luck because luck can't get you to top. And if that's the case make same for fire too 1 shot and fire extinguishes.

Agree with this 100%. If its gonna be this way with how frost works (1 hit and frost is gone), then it needs to be the same with fire. If the reasoning behind the nerf is because Big torp was too effective when used with frost, then the same could be said with how fire amplifies all these cannons specially the explosive cannon. And to anyone who is gonna counter by saying "well frost almost guarantees you get hit by a torp but for fire you can still move etc etc" well fire lasts twice as long (10 secs average for frost blaster vs about 20 secs average for flare and firebomb). Just think how many times you get hit by a cannon when you have the fire status debuff? I bet its more than once every damn time. I bet if you average it out, you get more damage with fire than you do with frost simply because there are more cannons and the effect lasts longer. PLUS YOU CANT EVEN TAKE THE EFFECT OFF.

Now imagine how that feels in the nightmare league when youre up against the super whales with Legendary T4/5 EC Cannons, then ofcourse there are your everyday whales who "only" have an epic T5 EC that does about 3k damage. And if that wasnt enough for you theres the standard, blast, and sniper cannons to finish you off.

 

First let me say that nerfing frost is fine.. But you guys overdid it. It is broken now not "Balanced".

What Ive noticed by playing a couple games with my "Balanced" frost blaster is that everyone just rushes in because they know they arent gonna be slowed down. That sucks for people like me who used frost items but never paired it with a big torpedo or big bertha.. Because that means we probably used it as a support item to help the team rather than how it was cleverly used as a 1 hit combo. To frost the #1 threat on the opposing team was so helpful and would give players like me who dont really have god items a fighting chance. Now im forced to up my HP and change my build just to survive longer. I know I wont be using my FB anytime soon, and I think many will follow (if they havent already).
