Tips for the Defender

 

Play and learn is the best tip anyone could give you!
But a few other side notes.
Just because your strong doesn't me go it alone. Stick near a fixer if possible or maybe a shooter so you have Yourself as a shield in front with the shooter laying down heavy fire behind.
Also I like to run with double cannons myself get up close and personal but that's just my play style so figure out what works for you!

 

I use double cannons too! Lol. Thought I was the only one

 

Well I was running Blast Cannon uncommon lvl 10 with Standard Mortar rare lvl 6 and a Standard shield rare lvl 5 but I kept getting those stupid anti m maps which would render me half useless so I'm using double Blast Cannon

 

damn double blast cannon both were 11 sec reload time right? compare to a 5sec canon and 11 sec blast one

 

got a question regards to canon speed reload time if its 5sec then you unlock bhurts lvl 16 skill tree

"CANNON HAS SHORTER RELOAD TIME
-10% TO COOLDOWN"

How many seconds will it be 5secs minus 10%?

 

Ehhhm probably 4.5secs?

I have that unlocked. Interestingly, mine says 4.4
Maybe rounded down

 

Another thing I can recommend in addition to the above is ALWAYS KEEP MOVING. Defenders take so long to get up and moving, turning, and aiming, etc. You want to practice always moving. The hiding/back and forth pop-shooting that speeder/shooter/enforcers do isn't effective on a defender. You get caught taking a ton of damage. More than you can tank. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee...

Also, focus on hp/def as a priority. Pure damage second. Your primary focus is being the tank.

 

You also want your teammates to follow you so you have them as backup

 

When I play shooter I almost always follow the defender if we have one. I only have an epic lv10 big shield so having a massive wall in front of me makes it much easier to lay down some damage without hiding.
