Ship speed maximiums

    why do these exist? I'd love to speed up my defender some more but it's already at the maximum and I can't think of a good reason for it to be capped.

    One reason is to keep the ships different. If every ship could be as fast as the speeder then it wouldn't really have any specialty.
    Another reason is that it ensures nobody can fit lets say 5 legendary T5 turbos to a defender and make it go warp speed, so giving hard caps which are withing the tolerances lag can withstand.

    A speeder's ability to equip yellow items will ensure it can beat any defender in a race. I'm not asking for ludicrous speed but 1.34 seems ponderous for a maximum.

    You can check the max speed if you press the speed attribute on your ship specs, it will also tell you what your perks, crew and items are contributing to that speed

    That sounds pretty fast for a Defender. My Speeder only does 1.5 with t2 epic turbo. (~1.6 maximum).

    And if going for fastest speed strategy you're better off filling up your blue slots with turbos instead of having a single higher tier turbo

    @Miika Is there anyway you can post a developer game with footage of this happening? This would be a hilarious video to send out in the game messages. A 5v5 of all warp-speed defenders would be glorious.

    I'll leave the numbers any way : Base Speed 1.29 + One Level 20 Common Turbo = 1.46 Max Speed vs Base Speed 1.29 + Two Level 10 Common Turbo = 1.54 Max Speed

    We a in a totally different league from you, where a single turbo maxes your ship speed.

    I'll leave the numbers anyway:
    Base speed: 0.87 + One Level 40 Epic Turbo = 1.46 Max speed
    Vs
    Base speed: 0.87 + Two Level 30 Rare Turbos = 1.46 Max speed
