Infamy makes no sense, better replace it with a normal score of hit-points

    Thats a good point as well. Sandbox mode would probably have little to no rewards...
    At this point, the only option is to not care about infamy from early on...

    I mean being fine with progressing slower than those around you because you'd be upgrading and practicing skills for all 5 ships...
    It would take a lot longer to be competitive with infamy. Also, its likely youd be better at one ship than another, and that may be awkward to transition back and forth between as well.

    So yeah, its hard. You do have about 800 infamy wiggle room (which is significant) to switch between ships so long as you dont straight suicide.

    If its a rappresentation of all my gear, boat and skill why is allowed (if i have a mk6 defender usually playng against 3000+ infamy) that i play with my mk3 or mk4 boats, against the same players level (3000+) and then people blames about that... is the matchmaking wrong looking just at our infamy or not?

    Thats normal. It doesn’t mean you’re good, it just means you’re new.

    Everyone starts out with a high kill ratio from fighting loads of bots. It will go down as you play more games.

    At higher infamy levels, it’s very unusual to see a player with more than 1.0 kills per game. Almost everyone ends up between 0.7 and 0.8. Even power houses like AmericanMarauder and Bunta are only in the high 0.9s.

    Which goes to show, really, why kill ratio isn’t a good measure of contribution.

    I believe miika said it best, when he said (paraphrasing) that there is no 100% accurate system of measuring what people contribute to a victory. Any system other than win/lose will introduce bias. I can see the logic in that, and I agree with it.

    Having said that... infamy has never been a very popular system, probably because there is too much randomness. And the whole ‘2 steps forward, 3 steps back’ swinging can feel very frustrating.

    I think the only solution is to either give players more control over their teams (for example larger fleets), or give players more control over the outcome (smaller teams).
