Poll: How often do you watch reward bonus videos

Just curious about this as I'm assuming that majority of players watch it always or often. That would indicate that the game makes a large part of its earnings through ads, maybe even more than through the in-app purchases.

 

I watch the ads when I have a large battle reward so it will become bigger. Rovio has a limited number of ads, so why use them when I will not make much more gold/sugar/pearls?

 

I'm in the same boat as agentshaw. I generally use them on great matches to get much better rewards. I never use them on defeats, the benefit isn't really great enough

 

I'm new at this game, at first I would always watch, but have since changed to only using when the rewards would be the greatest!

 

Yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat. I would watch the videos only if it was a win. No point in watching a video for a loss...
Then I said screw it and went the route of vip so I wouldn't have to watch them anymore...definitely worth the $10 in my opinion.
If you don't play often then it's not worth it to buy vip.

 

Yeah I oversaw the fact that most of you play many matches per day so the bonus isn't always there

 

I never do to me it's not worth it just play another game!

 

I watch them all the time win or lose. Its a good way of stocking up on pearls.. even if its just a small amount (normally just 1 pearl, sometimes you could get 2 or 3 but that happens maybe once every 10-20 games). So for every 20 games played you could get around 20-25 pearls. I know its not a lot but once you get to a certain level where youve done most of the achievements in the game youll realize that every pearl counts.

 

Amen brother...I'll be honest, my time is pretty limited so I paid for vip so I don't have to spend 10-20 minutes of my day watching ads. I do enough of that watching tv with my kids or seeing billboards driving to and from work. I don't need more being flashed at me during the game. But you're right, it does add up.

 

Before global launch, I actually suggested on the old forums some sort of VIP subscription or a one time payment that takes out the ads. My reasoning was that I wanted to save my data by not having to watch anything. At the time I was still playing a lot of games, definitely more than 10 a day and it felt like all the ads were sucking the data out of my phone plan. Now that there is a way to not watch the ads and still get the reward, i want to try it out but the problem is I dont play as much anymore. Im down for the VIP subscription but im still waiting if they add a couple of other stuff to it, or if ever if I find myself with a lot of time to play for a week or a month straight, then I might finally subscribe.

I read somewhere that being a VIP member, if you die early in the game and dont want to watch how it plays out, you can close the match and enter the match queue right away and still get all the rewards including the pearl(s). So basically you can already be playing another match while still being dead on the first match. Saves a lot of time and gives you all the bonus rewards. This feature should be abused imo to maximize and justify the dollars you are spending for VIP.

 

yeah, i wouldn't say I abuse it but if i know we're going to lose, I'm not going to sit around and watch it.

 

I used to watch them all the time. Now I just watch whenever I'm low on resources or they have 2+ pearls.

 

Only do it when i get great rewards, it's worth spending 30 seconds for better rewards after a 3-5m long battle.

 

Well, I used to watch them all the time but I noticed after a while they went away.. so I watched them in moderation...

 

I don't get ads maybe because I purchased VIP???

 

it says in the description when you purchase VIP you get the rewards without having to watch the ads. and the VIP chat

I was thinking I didn't played enough to run out of ads until I saw Miika's answer, I was really starting to believe the average player would battle A SH*TTON (like that, in caps) of matches per day lol.
