Frost Damage Calculation

    I currently use Big Torpedo + Frost damage combo, running a Frost Blaster, and 3x Frost damage perks on my torpedo.
    I was just wondering if any devs, or the community can tell me if the additional damage is say +X% total damage while frozen, or does it act the same way as crew and perk damage, by giving you +X% of base damage?

    I'm not positive but I do be live it goes off of current torp damage...i could be wrong but I thought I remember my frost damage going up when I trained big torp +20% damage

    I sure hope it is using total damage.
    I feel like with all the perks and crew training you need, that are inherently useless unless a target frosted, and the frost item slot, then having to combo them during a game, calculating off base damage instead of total would not provide a worthwhile damage boost as oppose to just using flat damage and speed perks / training then using a nitro or tesla bolt instead to have a more rounded setup.

    Holy sh**... The ONLY legendary I want is a Big Torpedo, got 5/10 pieces so far, but when I finally get there I know I'll get a standard mortar :\ . My T3 Rare currently only does 1400 damage. I can't even imagine hitting someone for 4k.

    U should see banderas t5 leg...hits frosted I believe for 8k

    Fire and frost damages are calculated from the final weapon damage.

    Is this final weapon damage after perks and talents are applied?

    Also can it be explained why shooting with the same weapon at the same target with no added effects can often give different damage.

    E.g. My sniper does 500 damage. I shoot target A 3 times and first shot hits for 450, second for 470, third for 460.

    Do ships have hidden defence values for different quadrants for example? Front/side/rear.

    Before anyone mentions defence, this is shots on the same target in the same game with no added effects between shots.

    Yes it's after perks and training bonuses. It's the number shown when you look at your weapon.

    All weapon damage always has +-10% random variation which follows normal distribution.

    Does the damage is affected by the point of impact? For example if a torp hits bulls eye right in the middle of ship max allowed damage and if it hits tail of the ship some less damage than which it can deliver?
