Of course those with duct tape should be provided the oppertunity to swap their ducttape with another green item of the same level and rarity to keep it fair for them. So assuming those with duct tape will get compensated, what's your opinion?

@Sewah don't get me wrong, I still don't like you, but I do want to hear your opinion as well.

I think that it's mechanics should be improved.

Introduce more green items that self heals plus heals others or just rebuff pulse, tape will again be useless as it was earlier.

I think it needs to be altered to be an "inverse pulse" that does 100% self-healing and 50% to others, and made into a 2-slot item.

I scraped a legendary green piece - because why? I had a nightmare that the 1st legendary piece I get is green and maybe by luck I'll get 10 legendary green piece and what comes out of the kitchen after combining the parts? Duct Tape. Like FML man. This is the worst item in the game and fixers who troll us by using it are like OMG man. I SOS and stay next to you for those heals and I get no heals and die ....

While it isn't popular, allowing people to pick and choose what they like is the main aspect of the game (assuming the rng god has given them that item)
Yes it's become more popular since the pulse nerf but that's always going to happen when people look for the easiest way to keep them self alive. Heck at the moment I am using it while I level up a bolt for my mk5. At high levels it pretty much feels as a fixer you can choose your weapon but everything else is mandatory. Right now all the fun is being ripped out the fixer and the lower rewards don't help motivation either.
For now until something changes with the pulse nerf I think tape will be here to stay, remove it from the game and they will change to double bandages and the box will be reserved for when they need to self heal.
Every class have builds that's annoying if you team up with them.
The other side is they can be easy pickings when you go against them.
if the next update has more fixer nerfs you probably won't have to worry about tape as all the remaining fixers will be rusting away in the corner.

Good idea, but more than likely as a 2 slot item, it will not be used in favor of the Normal Pulse. Personally i think the Duct Tape already works well, and a perfect example is Elitist when he uses his fixer. He's nearly indestructible.

My logic here is that instead of "double Pulse and Tape" at Mk6, you could run "Pulse, NuTape, Bolt" and maintain some survivability while still being able to heal teammates at a distance.

I think that's what Rovio is trying to avoid. That combination would be too perfect imho, and would make Fixers hard to kill, and the people surrounding them just as hard. A high level bolt heals and remedies friendlies far too well ( I fleet with Sir-Fix-A-Lot and he has a T4 Epic Repair Bolt) so i know the benefits.

Balancing a game is hard to do, and to be honest this needs to be tried out in game to determine if it would be viable, or whether it's overpowered.

Sure would be neat if we had a player test realm where balance patches could be tested out by higher infamy captains.

    *cough*

No it should not be removed because it increases the chances of fixer survivability and hence more heals for the team.

AARGH!!!! GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT! If they wanna play with duct tape, let 'em. If items were to be removed, I would start with the frost bomb. I mean, come ON.

FYI (to everyone), Elitist isn't using fixer for 3 reasons :
1- He doesn't want to fix morons anymore. More and more are getting into Nightmare.
2- Too much hassle for nothing : He gets so furious trying to heal people for basically a loss because of point 1.
3- He finds Defender a lot funnier : Rush in and bye bye team.

Funny enough, he loves being a fixer with me. He just prefers to play defender now for fun. *Dreaming of my best fixer in the world:(* *Crying so much:(* < *Saddest song in the background*

edit : Not what I was looking for but close enough :

No, duct tape should not be removed. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it has no place in the game. It's a valid item and not every fixer with a tape is useless or selfish. Some of the top fixers in the game were / are running double pulse + tape.

    18k? Try 19.3k... I wonder if he's going to hit 20
