What's Driving Everyone Down?

At this point I'm questioning whether there's this many seal clubbers. I got clobbered down from 1900 last week and I'm now facing mk5 ships at 1500 will nearly all t4 rare weapons, tiered up epics, legendaries not too uncommon and being piloted by 30+ level captains.
It was mentioned over the forum how high ships and weapons should take a player. that's all askew now and competition at the lower levels has seriously stepped the fuck up.

Not everyone of these can be a seal clubber. So why the sudden influx of high mk ships with high tier weapons, with higher than mid-level captains at master league levels?

 

Less skilled = Less infamy, it's as simple as that. There are mk4s at over 2000 infamy. Why? Cause their good. I am a mk4 speeder at 1400 infamy with 2 t3 rares, 2 lvl 10 rares, and 2 t3 uncommons, have been playing since May, and am Captain lvl 27. Why am I 1400 with great weapons and great aiming skills? Cause I'm really bad a positioning. I don't expect to reach any higher than 2500 infamy, cause I'm. Not. Skilled. And the same with mk5s at my lvl. I fight mk5s EVERY match. This is partly because they used cash, but mainly cause they lack skill. And I'm fine with that.

 

My infamy is around and below the 1900s nd I'm mk4, there's usually 1/2 chance of seeing another mk4 in battle.

 

It's not due to bad skill or anything imo. It's the rest of your team is usually trash. Take this pic for example. I did more than 3 of the other guys combined on my team and almost all 4. I did fine myself (skilled unskilled whatever you want to call me) but my team mates just die fast which caused me to lose.

 

Im mk4 and grinding to get into Ace league next season (2300). Ive been kicking butt though with my current setup, before that I was mk4 shooter at around 1400.


Very rarely see another mk4, I have 1800 hp and up agasinst speeders with 4000, some with legendary items already

 

Stay away from ace league. Rewards are way worse than master 1. You'll get one epic piece for 2 weeks which is not going to be any use for your rare setup. Enjoy your 400 rare rewards while you can.

 

Honestly I think it's the influx of new players. I myself just started in April. Now while I've surpassed and moved on to over 3000, there were 3 good stretches where Rovio's 50/50 Algorithm caused me severe losses in Infamy. Fighting up to 2200, and then down to 1400 in less than a week? Even if I had bad luck that wouldn't have happened to a "normal" player, and that was the 2nd time where I had that kind of a swing (the other was recently, 2800 back down to 2300)...it could just be as simple as players in the middle of a bad streak.

And like others have pointed out, gear can only get a player so far...no, you can't "solo" a defender as a Speeder (normally, anyway), but that's the point. It's a team effort. And eventually if you keep truckin' along, you'll find that the players that insist on playing brain dead by hovering around lobbing Mortars all match just to "earn a paycheck" so to speak, will be surpassed by players like you that insist on playing to win, not just to salvage a precious Star by trying to throw out enough damage against a wall and hoping some of it sticks. It all just requires one of the hardest skills this game requires of you...patience.

 

If I have missed it in this post then apologies, but no one has mentioned the obvious thing here.

Upgrading your ship takes nothing more then time, the longer the game is out for the more people we will see in higher mk ships in the lower infamy ranges.

Ship mk and gear and captain levels will only get you so far in this game, which is why we are seeing more higher mk ships now in lower infamy ranges because they have spent the time to get the ship but don't posses the skill and/or gear to advance.

Now imagine the ships and weapons people have at 400 infamy...look at hers..and her battle count. Its unreal how many of these situations are down here.
Something needs done..no way this person is THIS BAD.
