I have zero respect for players like this.

Assuming someone has a mental disability because they decide to use a boat that is 1 level lower is pretty dumb if you ask me. Chances are they have a quest to do. Should they wait 8 hours to change and do their quest because no one wants to hurt your feelings?

 

There is also is no rule stating that you're not allowed to lose on purpose. According to your logic losing on purpose would be no problem either.

 

Yes they should wait those 8 hours. It's not just about me, it's about 3 or 4 others as well. Just remove all gear from the lower lvl ships. After a week you won't get those kind of quests anymore. However, if you keep using it again and again, then those quests will also show up again and again. What's wrong with just 1 week patience, and then never getting a quest for that weak ship ever again?

Everybody with some decent brains should know that it's not ok to ruin the fun of 4 others just for your own fun.

 

You will still get quests for items and ships not equipped. You just have a lower chance. And your logic is plain stupid. No one should stop having fun to please others, then what's the point of playing? I'd also like to note I still get quests for my mk3 enforcer which I haven't used in months nor equipped with any item. And yes I switch those or wait for them because I wouldn't go as low as to use a boat 2 mk's lower. When I use a boat 1 mk lower my intentions are to try to win and have fun. If it doesn't work out ohwell

 

This quest thing is a bit of a grey area I think..not sure if the Devs have mentioned it anywhere.
I've had no weapons equipped on speeder/enforcer/defender for a long time and have had zero quests for them.
I used fixer a while back for a few games and got a few quests after..until I took off weapons..now I get no more fixer quests.
I should add I DO have shields/turbo etc on them for storage space.
Maybe the Devs could clarify this.
As for changing boats for quests..IMO..if someone switches to 1mk lower than their main for a few games..then fair play..it isn't 100% that your team will lose because of it.
The BIG problem is players using mk1/mk2 just to try a different boat or lose infamy..which some have been reported and banned for. How do people differentiate whether someone is doing a quest..or intentionally losing?.
No doubt if people who get reported for using a lower mk boat will not be banned..as I'm hoping the Devs will see that it was just for a few games and realise they were not trying to intentionally lose..I hope you get what I'm saying.

 

That's what I'm saying. Using a ship 1 mk lower is fine as long as you are trying to win. Let others use you as an excuse to whine and cry, who cares

 

If only the devs would implement an non-ranked or practice mode then everyone could try out different boats or weapons. I understand that nobody wants to lose but players are even encouraged to try new weapons on one of the loading screens. devsbenforcing unwritten rules by banning people for using new boats is crap. Just man up and add a control to prevent it unless you don't want your money grab to be that obvious.

 

You don't get quests for unequipped items. Ever. Also, I never get any ship quests but fixer ones anymore. If you don't use other ships, you don't get quests for other ships. For me that rule holds 100% too. I don't believe that you're getting mk3 ship quests while not having touched it in months.

Also, the logic of @Wishaal perfectly fine. Why do you think infamy tanking for seal clubbing is a bannable offense? It's the same thing. It's fun to the person doing it, but ruins the fun of others, therefore it's bad. If you can't understand that, you must be quite selfish.

 

Just to add..1mk lower than your main for a few games just to do a quest.. I don't see it as much of a problem..AS LONG as you have good enough equipment to go with it..dropping boat lvl with common or low lvl equipment to finish quests or to try out is NOT right at all..IMO.
