I kinda feel it's not totally random, but it may be just me. I'm actually sorry for you... you're the luckiest unluckiest player in bb xD

Oh, right. OK so I've got 164.

It's not my preference to think Rovio is messing with RNG, but I also don't generally believe in sets of extreme circumstances being random.. For example, as noted before, the odds that out of a 10 box pull for 3900 I would receive 5 tesla shields AND that I would receive 6 rare rudders before receiving 1 rare turbo. From a pure RNG perspective the odds of just those 2 happening to the same player are so remote that you're dense if you don't look at other possibilities. And yet from reading the forum it seems that this sort of thing happens fairly frequently. Feel free to use epistemological arguments all you like... nothing wrong with epistemology in and of itself but as practical matter you will find that a mathematical/economic perspective twill lead you to the truth far more often and efficiently:

    Q. How often are these events likely to occur by pure random chance?
    A. It's unlikely to have occurred to anyone playing by pure random chance.

Q: Is there a pattern to this occurrence?
    A: Yes, as previously stated.

Q: Would anyone economically benefit from such a pattern?
A: Yes, the ones who write the drop algorithms.

Try getting Mortars only with legendary weapons ! I bet you will get much pissed off.
I've accepted my "faith" by the RNGod lol.

I've only received two rare turbo as well, at my level against mostly mk5 ships it makes anything but speeder unplayable, even fixer with OB is tough

Sure, the odds of those two specific things happening to a single player, in a vacuum, are tiny. However, when you look at it on a larger scale and think about the odds of any two things of that probability happening to the same player and apply it to the larger population, the chances are very nearly 100%. Let's look at it another way: the chances of one person winning the lottery are a number so close to zero that it's practically indistinguishable. Yet, someone inevitably DOES win. No matter how rare something is, in a truly random setting, as long as it's a non-zero chance, it will happen given enough trials.

Another thing to mention is only the extreme outliers of luck will get p1ssed/happy enough to post on a forum. I've played a few mobile games that monetise RNG and the forums are always the same. There are tens of thousands of players that have average luck that go about their business without issue. You have been unlucky there is no shame in it but there is no conspiracy.

I agree it will happen given enough trials, but I don't believe there have been enough trials to make it likely to happen. That's part of the calculation here- the amount of time the game has been out, the number of people playing, and so on.

I've been looking for a third rare sniper to get mine to tier 3. Well weeks of opening chests to no avail I decided to take off my sniper and try out a cannon. 1st rare chest I open.....sniper. Try taking whatever you are looking for off your ships.

Okay; how many people play this game daily? How many rare/epic chests are opened a day? How many have been opened in total? Provide data points. You're making assertions with no data. @Miika explained already, but it's part of the human condition: our brains like to find patterns where none exist, whether they be beneficial or detrimental. This subconscious desire is what feeds into superstitions; how many people do you know with a "lucky shirt" or something similar? Do you believe these articles of clothing/trinkets/etc actually do anything?

So let's use math instead of intuition to determine how likely those are to happen. Opening 10 epic containers gives you 90 rare items. Chance of not getting a turbo from one pull is 34 out of 35. This means that the chance of not getting a turbo from 90 pulls is (34/35)^90 = 7.3%. While it's clearly more likely to get a turbo than not get one, 7.3% is not that small of a chance. The probability of pulling 5 or more tesla shields from 90 boxes is 11.6%. The probability of receiving 6 or more rudders from 10 containers is 4.4%.

So, instead of the chance being "unlikely to have occurred to anyone", it's actually quite common. Out of 100 hundred players 7 would not get a turbo.

I don't think it's rigged tbh. I've received 94 rare items and hitting turbo is 1/35, so receiving only two rare turbos is definitely within the range of randomness. Ive been buying blue rare pieces whenever available to increase my odds.

This hasn't been my experience, I almost exclusively use both rare Berta and ballpark mortars on every ship I play and I've received 4 rare of each out of 94 rare items received

I don't know where you are getting 90 from? Lol I got 5 teslas in one set of boxes. The 3900 pearl thing. There sure weren't 90 rare items in that... There were 10 items in it., 8 of them were rare and 2 of them were epic. 3/8 of the rares were tesla and both the epics were teslas. By my calculations we are getting to less than 1 in a million chance of that if it was purely random. Combine the other examples I mentioned and now it becomes foolish to think it's vanilla RNG when they had other commonalities.

Let's assume your math is correct (I honestly don't care to re-do it myself). There was a 1:1,000,000 chance of this happening to you, in this specific crate. There's also a 1:1,000,000 chance of it happening to literally anyone else, in every single crate that everyone has opened since crates were a thing. Which seems more likely: that you were the unlikely one who hit this particular "jackpot," which was guaranteed to happen eventually, to someone, or that Rovio has gone out of their way to screw over you in particular?

As described by the existence of this thread, I choose option 'c', the one where Rovio implements systems to increase grind factor. You know, kind of like when they decided to implement the whole RNG system in the first place?

Available evidence in this thread alone points to your "C" being out-and-out wrong, so we're left with A and B. Pick one.
