Is it just me or is there a massive spike from 800-1200 infamy...? When i first started at like 300-700 it seemed like everyone was mk 1-2. As soon as I started hitting 900-1100, the gap in items/ships becomes so obvious. I was going against 3k-4k ships as a mk2 shooter with 850 hp :[. Is it just people trying to lower their infamy to dominate?

Yes i am at 1000 now and cannot climb. I win some then other team has 2 or 3 mk4's' drop to 920. See mk1 and 2s again climb back above 1000.

Mk3 and mk4 are quite normal above 1000, and nearly all ships are mk4 above 1300 with my observation.

I think it's almost like a soft cap to keep you from climbing way too fast. I'm stuck in the same 900-1k back and forth so I feel your pain here. It seems that the best thing to do right now is to play fewer matches so you don't lose points too much or get tilted (I dropped to 684 yesterday), focus on training skills that will level you up the fastest to start unlocking the mk3 ships, and when you do play a match be WAY more defensive than you usually are. I have two range perks on my Rare Cannon and my Uncommon Sniper is lvl 20, waiting on the talent to make it mk3, so I sit in the back lines after I drop below 40% health and take my shots carefully when sniper is off cooldown or they're close enough for the standard cannon.

Im doing the opposite. Playing as many matches as i can and not carong about my infamy this season. Seeong as i need sugar to level my Captain, so i can then lvl my ship. Faster i get to mk3 and 4 faster i can climb to Masters leagues. Cant earn sugar by dancing around Infamy.

You make a great point, I should probably add that I still have capped Sugar at all times. I'm making sure not to waste any time with my crew training and if there's anything in the market that I want I'll grind out the gold. But that also made my infamy drop over 300 points yesterday. I know there's still 9 days left in the season so I'm not stressed about not ranking well. At least after 4pm CST it seems that my winrate starts going up substantially so I'm kind of putting off most of my play for later in the day. I've played a handful of games today and just got over 1k again.

In my mk2 shooter I was back and forth 800-1050. Just bought mk2 fixer and went with cannon, overboost, aoe repair and shield. @1280 and still climbing just use the defenders as a meat shield and spam that repair hehe

Around 1050-1100 infamy with fixer 1 ... 800 hp is tough when every weapon two shots you ...
At least I see it as a way to pratice good positionning :)

I too found that there seemed to be certain.. walls, at different points. The 1k mark was one, the 1.5-1.6k was another. And at these points I found that skill was only a very small part of the struggle. Item and ship level is a really big factor at these points. If you find that you're at a wall, look at what might be holding you back. If you're dying too easily, leveling up your ship is a good way to overcome this. If you're not doing enough damage, then leveling your items should be your focus. It was also at these walls where you will question your ship choice, ie fixer or shooter. Pick the one you ENJOY the most, because if you only focus on say the shooter, because of the damage it can do, but enjoy speeding around in a speeder or enforcer, then spending all your resources on shooter items, in the long run, will hold you back on ACTUALLY enjoying the game later on, because your items for your favourite ship will be under leveled and you won't be able to compete in the infamy range you are in. And let's face it. Losing every game 50 games in a row gets a bit tedious and boring

That's impressive! It's gonna be an amazing feeling when you get to upgrade that to mk2
