Can someone explain the working of carronade?

It's slowing efffects and its turret slowing effects and what perks to equip and what abilities to pick from training Swift to make it better.
Edit: does it do splash damage like explosive canon and its projectile is like a canon or railgun?
Detailed answers would be appreciated.

The extra projectiles talents are a must.
And the talents are as they say. If you train certain ones, If you hit someone it will make their ship slower and their turret turn slower for a short duration, making them somewhat of a sitting duck.

Damage perks for sure and as previously said the extra projectiles. Great for defence or an aggressive enforcer/speeder. Never use it on a defender EVER.

 

Does it do splash or direct dmg?
And what is it good to pair with on speeder

 

Its direct.
I m leaned to use blast cannon, flare gun, or torpedo on speeder.

I used the Carronade early on and got rid if them. How close do you really have to be to do damage. That is, for all projectiles to hit the target?

 

Me as a teacher: -hands student a max legendary carronade-

"Shoot an enemy, those are your grade %'s this semester"

You have to be very close to use it. Carronade is somewhat/incredibly useless until you get into the higher levels. At high levels tho; 7 projectiles with a 4.4 second cool down, plus 3 second slow. Add a frost blaster to be extra annoying. If you are a speeder killer this would do the job quickly.
