Reduce infamy drop limit?

    Hi all..
    Do you think if the infamy drop limit was reduced to 400/500 we would see less of the higher tiered boats..which imo is the cause of most complaints about matchmaking.
    My thoughts on this is because I've noticed something in the past month or so..
    I use a mk4 shooter with mk2 rares/mk3 rare cannon and reached 2030 infamy..BUT since the start of the new season..I've dropped 600 infamy. Yes..in a few games I messed up..BUT in the majority of them I had mk5/mk6 boats doing 800-900 damage before dying. I saw it a few times on the enemy team but nowhere near as much as on my team.
    We've seen MANY posts about unfair matchmaking..but imo..matchmaking by infamy works..
    BUT..it's the higher lvl players intentionally dropping infamy is the cause of the problem.
    They know the limit they can drop is 800 iirc..so they join a game..do minimal damage before dying to avoid reports/detection of floating..then hit X and start a new game while the other game is still going on..therefore they can farm resources faster..whether it be mk4 at 400 infamy..or mk5/6 around 1400+.
    I've noticed this seems to happen most at the start of a new season..or towards the end. During the middle they play to win to level out infamy so as to not drop too far.
    I'm no expert at this game..but mk4 should be nowhere near 400 infamy..neither should a mk5/6 be at 1400..
    What do you all think?

    If the limit were changed, it would certainly cut down on seal clubbers...but it would also cause a sharp rise in the number of people getting screwed over on their loot because of just plain old fashioned bad luck. Sometimes you have a run of bad games. I've dropped 300 infamy in a day before, and I'm not even exceptionally high infamy to start with. What happens when someone does that at a higher level? They're dangerously close to your threshold if they lose as much as >I< have, nevermind as much as someone easily could.

    Maybe 400-500 is too low..maybe 500-600?..as you have 2 weeks anyway to get infamy back up. I also lost 300 in one day..but to be honest..I'd rather my rewards stopped until I got my infamy up..than have mk5/6 in my team doing less effort into winning than a bot.
    This way..more people will play to win..therefore better battles and LESS threads about matchmaking.

    I dropped from 1937 infamy all the way to 1270 yesterday. Not because I'm seal clubbing, but because I'm having a bad time. So no thanks

    Idk why people even seal club. It isn't easier at 1200's than 1900's. If anything it's harder. Everyone down there sucks and it's hard to carry a team in a team based game...

    Yep..I know how ya feel.
    We know why people sealclub..to farm resources faster.
    When the new season starts..they fleet with another mk5/mk6 making it easier to win..I say this as I've seen this "strategy" talked about in chat by people with mk6.
    I just think if it was lowered slightly..then you'd see less of it happening.

    I don't know about lowering the limit simply for those of us that get caught up in the BS. Beginning of this season I climbed up to almost 1800. This morning I dropped into high 1400's.

    In the last 20 games I've had 5 victories. It's rough. I play fixer. It's the only ship I have. Everything else is mk1 you can look at my stats for the games and see that I'm trying to play the part. Most losses have 3k+ heals, some even 9k but it's the same nonsense every time.

    The random shooter/defender charging into a group of 5 to die. 4 people going 4 ways. No teamwork what so ever. It's hard to be rated by teams that don't give a crap.

    It seems like at the beginning of league I climb like a rocket the. A few days into it I'm just trying to manage the bleeding.

    It's just a matter of time until the rewards stop and since I'm not trying to drop but instead im being drug down by those that are it's really frustrating

    Furthermore. The lower infamy range is garbage. It's even less teamwork. Less intelligence. It's like a black hole that keeps sucking your down. It's something that a solo nerfed fixer cant turn around by himself

    Yes I know that's why they seal club. I wish there was a better system though. One to catch the real clubbers and one that ignores the ones who get fucked over in matchmaking (like us). Alas that would be a very difficult to implement system.

    Maybe even impossible...

    Measure average contribution points across losses, compare to teammates' averages in those same losses. If the difference is consistently >= x% in a negative direction, clubber tag. Best solution that comes to mind.

    Dude its so irritating
    , i know that, i dropped from 2395(which i reached with mk4 enforcer) to 1800(now using mk5 and have much better weapons) , and it took me forever to reach 2k.I realized once you drop in infamy you are just trapped and its so irritating because it never feels like team, everyone just plays haphazardly strolling around map:(....

    What if we kept the current system the only change is the infamy drop for example if you score/rank into "Warrior" tier and got 600 infamy. No matter how many battles lost your infamy would only be able to drop to 500 or 501 infamy keeping you in the same tier and roughly in the same competitive zone you were able to achieve. I'm sure there are lots of issues with this idea but it's food for thought.

    Can someone explain why players do this? Lower infamy means lower rewards per battle and end of season so what's the point in this?

    Most of the people who play this game are less than 12 years old... so obviously they can't compete with any skilled players so they have to play with newvbies for "fair fights"

    I'm not sure if seal clubbers are the issue. I agree that it does happen but the admins said that seal clubbing dies not worj anynire cause you'd end up getting matched against the same level people anyways.

    I believe that everybody's dropping cause ex seal clubbers suddenly realised what's going on and are climbing back to their original levels.

    Also, the increase in number of players also means an increase in wallet warriors which means quick and easy upgrade to higher level mks with powerful items, meaning high ships with powerful weapons and low skills which are probably part of the issue. These players are too unskilled to be in master league and also too powerful to be in warrior league.

    Only practical solution is to remove the infamy reset cap. Not only will this solve all issues, it'll also make sure the game much more easier for future beginners. Mk4s with no skills will continue to be a problem but it'll be easier to tolerate them, and new players would actually be able to farm resources better and reach mk4 levels much more easily therefore getting out of that trap.

    Another thing is, this solution might be more permanent, it may work no matter how many more players join the game, infamy spread will continue to increase in width and player base would be spread. This will ensure no newbies will actually quit the game which ensures not just a steady increase in player population but is capable of sustaining the player base even, which is even better for the game and it's community.

    I wish the admins would tells us why there is a infamy reset cap @Miika @Zeus

    For blocking mortar you need at least tier 3 tesla shield or else you will end blocking one and other one will take you along with the person you are trying to same due to all those mortar rain you know XD
