simply because thats the catch, if it had team colors it will lessen the effectiveness of the weapon, coz you see them floating, you just have to be careful

The way I see it, the mine is already not a commonly used weapon, and nerfing it at this point would effectively kill it. Also, the mines being indistinguishable has a notable positive impact on the game. When a player does not pay attention to who dropped the mine, it introduces a dilemma that improves the overall depth of the game: Take the risk and head through the mine, or play it safe and find another route and potentially waste precious time. These types of split-second decisions are what make games memorable. In addition, the mine rewards perceptive players who are focused on the game and pay attention to visual and audio cues, letting them avoid the above dilemma entirely, which is an entirely great thing. For these reasons, I think the design choices behind the mine are justified.

Yeah I definitely agree with D3X there. I think when both teams have mines is where the mine users really shine, putting them in places where you would think "Ah it must have been my team mate" but whoops, it wasn't. That's what I like about it, and of course all mines are accidental.. why would you ever run into one on purpose? Its the idea that, alright, these guys are fighting here, if I can mine this area, I can push them back and make them step into it, it could be coordinated, but that's somewhat unlikely and would require a very skillful player, either way, the confusion is what makes the mines that much more interesting, sure I hate losing games because of it, but I like the idea of not knowing. That's my take on it anyway.

I'm in agreeance in that the mines shouldn't be colour coded, regardless of whether you colour both or just the friendlies. Any colouration would make it obvious as to who it belongs to completely defeating it's purpose. Mines would then only be good for scrapping.

I imagine it would be the same principle as to why boxes don't get colour coded. Colour coding those could be exploited in the same kind of way, faster ships like speeders or enforces would devour the unfriendly box mitigating their contribution significantly.

You can compare it to naplam man, if its unfriendly naplam you will get slighty damage and you will evade it instant, on other hand mine just kills you before you even know it.....

Not all torpedoes are easy to avoid, watch the speed (without speed perks)..

Mines are a great strategic element, and they are used by many of the best players who have shooter or fixer, help a lot to stop the speeders, close areas of the map and hopefully someone step and dies ... putting a color does not make sense, In fact I think the game should have more weapons like the mines that force you to think. Magnetic mines following speeders around the map XDDDDD will be great!

I'm not a mine user but based on experience I disagree that color coding is a nerf. The bonus to the miner of indistinguishable mines is more than offset by the fact that it hurts the rest of their team.
