Fixers, please watch torpedoes!

If I had a pearl for every time a Fixer took a Big Torpedo right next to me, I'd be in a Nightmare by now. This time was particularly annoying because of how the match played out.



Enemy team was turtling, I went around to flank. After taking about 500 damage, our Fixer came to heal me. A Shooter got a little too close on the other side of the map and died early, so things were starting to look bleak.

I went up to "dance" and potshot their healer, who I notice is healing over 70 health per tick off of a Duct Tape. I take about half my health in damage and I retreat. Their Speeder then rushes out to try and finish me off, gets blocked by my Tesla Shield and then gets stuck in a corner. Their Fixer rushes out to try and save the Speeder before he dies, fails, tanks one of our Fixer's mines, then dies before he can make it back. I'm celebrating, since their would-of-have-been-invincible Fixer just died so we now have a massive advantage. We end up with an Enforcer, a Fixer, and a Defender against 2 Shooters.

I'm up on the front line, someone fires a Big Torpedo, I dodge it. Fixer behind me takes it, we both die instantly.

 

If somwbody is behind you they don't see ths torp coming. My suggestion would be to stay near, but not in front of teammates

 

I can't. I'm not in front of Fixer on purpose, he followed me out there. If he's in a position where he can't see torpedoes while I'm trying to dodge enemy fire, I can't just move out of his way.

 

The problem is that as DPS you're always looking at the enemy, thus it's easy to see torpedoes coming and evade them. As fixer, you're mostly looking at your allies. That means your view is not always towards the enemy. A fixer with box or bolt just can't see torpedoes coming at all times. I always try to position myself in a smart way, but sometimes it just can't be helped.

 

I understand that, just asking people to take extra care.

 

And fixers are targeted by speeders first, and they frequently carry torps with your name on it.

We all feel for the OP though.

In my games it's usually the defenders and shooters that take those shots. I try to stay out of danger range with them until I'm ready to heal.

Aslong as people stay in front of my green boat its ok, but so many insist of moving back behind me as soon as they take a hit!
