Dear speeders and fixers, plz explain why you need to stall the match when the outcome is clear?

We all know that situation. Your team has got 5 members left with full health, and the speeder or fixer is the only ship alive from the enemy team. There is zero hope of winning for them, but yet they try to survive as long as they can. Why? Why not accept your loss and move on to the next match instead of dragging the match along?

I'm not complaining. I'm totally fine with it. But I'm honestly curious about why they need to stall.

While I'm at it... I'd like a speeder to answer this. When it's 1 vs 1, and you (a speeder) has got a few 100 hp, and your enemy is a defender/shooter with over 3000 hp. Why try to kill him instead of just running away so that the match will become a draw. Why throw the match away by staying in their shooting range?

 

Personally, if i feel there is no chance of me overcoming the remaining unfriends, I accept my fate. It is one of the reasons I usually sacrifice myself and all my healing to the last friend on my team because they can definitely do more than me.
However, 1v1, ill go for the draw

Totally understand though, had a 1 speeder left on unfriends and 4 left on our team. The speeder was running two over boosts and a nitro, not even two speeders could catch him haha. He ran around for 2 min....we all thought someone would catch him so didnt bother capturing lol our bad.

 

If I'm last guy and other team has plenty of dudes I go kamikaze into the enemies and try to get as much damage done possible for more loot lol

 

That makes sense, that way you can also move on to the next match faster. But I'm still curious about those people stalling the match. I really want to know why they do that.

Since when does running around without dealing damage reward you with extra stars?

 

Never understood this either. Personally I give up as soon as I know we'll lose and move onto the next match.

 

I don't know about the people who just running purely to stay alive but I often run and hide to reset myself. Looking for that little opening where I can take out 1 or 2 ships before I am sunk. Beside, if it's a 1v2 or 1v3 and I have heavy damage weapons, hiding helps with hope the unfriends split up so it's easier to attack. It's a challenge and it's a fun one.

I had a battle about a week ago in Destruct 9. I was a shooter with double digits health running for my life in 1v4 where the unfriend had a fixer. I went in the ally at the side of the map with all 4 following me. Halfway in, I fired a level 10 Epic big torp behind me and BOOM, 2 got sunk. Before I made the right turn into open water of capture, I fired another big torp and....(you guess it) BOOM, 2 more sunk. That battle was incredible from my perspective. (The unfriends probably kicking themselves.)

The point I am trying to make keep battling no matter how hopeless the situation seem. It's a fun challenge. You can dive into the enemies or make the best of the situation. That's what I did most of the time if I was in a speeder. Hoping I can pick off enough for a draw. If you're a fixer and the last man standing on your team, you're doing something wrong.

 

Lvl 10 big torp deals about 800 damage. How could it kill anybody with 1 shot? Did u kill mk2 ships or what? Or their fixer didn't try to break them?

 

it doesn't. but if you're a speeder with a bandage or a fixer. you run away to heal yourself, fire a shot, rinse and repeat.

of course some do it to annoy the enemy and are just salty for their teams loss.

You're assuming the unfriends still have full health. Like I said, the battle was mostly fought. My first shot probably did damages to more than the 2 sunk. The second one finished them off. I was 1 shot away from sinking so they probably didn't expect that. Due to having a fixer, players naturally ran to him for healing so they charge at me together in a narrow path. That battle was probably more lucky than anything due to my position. I wasn't surrounded so they have to run me down. Everyone have highs and lows moments in BB. That was one of my high moments. A lot of things have to go right to have moment like that. Just like the highest damage/healing in at match setup by certain variables. You don't go into a battle saying you can easily beat your personal best in damage/healing do you? How do you even assume the unfriends have full health at the end of battle?

I can say that as someone that's still trying to get better with the speeder. I will continue to try even if I'm hopelessly outnumbered and outgunned. I might as well practice and try new things, when the outcome is already known. As opposed to testing something out when I still have live teammates that are going for the win and don't want me doing something stupid. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

If i am the last one standing I try to practice driving with the camera facing in a different direction (e.g. shooting backward while going forward).
