Cover should be cover. It's BS when you're behind something, someone torps the other side of it, and you die to huge splash damage.

Same thing for mortars and mines (it's happened to me before).

Haha. The reason why I don't stay near walls. Not only it doesn't cover you (it should), you won't even see the torpedo coming.

Yeah I do this to other people but I still don't really see it as fair lol. Especially on the map with the 2 giant cylinders, since people are often in there and if they are up against a wall I can hit them from outside

It's common sense not to stand behind those "cover" places. Because the splash will kill you. In the infamy I'm at (1900) nobody uses those things if there are mortar or torpedo users in the unfriends team.

It's common sense to take cover on those structures because you shouldn't get damaged from behind it.

The splash should not kill you because those things should cover you.

    Get off your high horse.

It is what it is. No point of complaining just because you don't like it. The devs are not going to change it. The players should change their positions if they don't like it. It works both ways.

Well, do as you like then, take cover behind that small yellow wall in destruct nine while you get shot by mortars and torpedoes and see if it protects you, common sense am I right? Die from the splash damage from a torpedo that hits the cover and continue to make the same mistake over and over again, just common sense.

Exactly what I mean. If it doenst give you cover from torpedoes then don't use it as cover when there are torpedoes coming.

Nah man that's not his point. I believe what he is saying is, those things should act as cover as it should be. Now he's probably doing in game adjustments because of this, which solves his problem but it doesn't actually solve the issue.

What im trying to say is that as of right now those covers are useless. This is why nobody should use them and at the infamy I'm at nobody does use them. That's why it's common sense not to hide behind the covers. I wish they would stop torpedo splash and mortars but that would break the game. People would hide behind them with their 4 mortars and it would be an unfair advantage because they can't be hit. I'm not on a high horse just saying that you shouldn't use those cover spots because they dont actually provide cover.

Thank you @Kalbs , you are correct. Obviously I don't seek cover anymore behind the small yellow thingies just above the water when my enemy comes at me with torpedos. That doesn't mean that I think the current situation is fine.

@NAN0NAT3R This is not a whine thread about getting hit. This is a thread to call for change and improve the game because of something not working as it should. I'm perfectly capable of adapting. That doesn't mean it's fine that I need to. Saying "nobody should use those covers" won't improve the game. I also disagree that fixing this would break the game, mortar spammers aren't suddenly OP because torpedos can't hit them through structures anymore.

@TVNPryde What makes you say the devs aren't going to change it?

You are missing my point. Nobody should use those covers RIGHT NOW because they are not useful. As I said before, I would like them to be better but in a way that wouldn't break the game and allow a shooter with 4 long range mortars to destroy a team while nobody can hit him because he is behind the cover. For all we know the devs might of made them that way for a reason.

First of all, the game works fine with the way torpedoes and mortars are right now. There is no reason for the change you're seeking.
Secondly, in real life, if a torpedo is coming at you, I don't think hiding behind a rock or other small structure can help you. The only different is that the object does not get destroy by the explosion.
