Don't Get Mad, Get Math!

I don't think there's a person who has played this game who hasn't been irked at the occasional noob. (These aren't newbs, these are players that should know better, but don't.)

Aa frustrating as all-duct tape healers or mine-exclusive speeders are (please, just don't), there seems to be some math at work that makes it unreasonable to become outraged over the outcome of almost any match—even if a noob got your entire team killed. Why? Because it happens to everyone equally.

Your odds of winning are a little better than 50%
I haven't seen a profile in the game that doesn't bear this out. From mid-range noobs like me to the best of the best, win ratios are almost universally within 5% of even*.



So don't get mad. Just play another match. You're on one of two teams that will win, so your odds are about 50/50.

* - Disclaimer to account for statistical variations, which might blow this theory out of the water, in which case you probably still shouldn't get mad, because this is a game.

 

I have a 54% win ratio

 

I know those have 60+% (albeit having spent big money), and 40% (on a downhill and have been playing over a couple months)....But yes, 50/50, it evens out still, what we are trying to have is actual strategic battles instead of those that rush or play all mines (etc it goes on lol) or most prevalently floaters. If we could minimize that it would be more fun i think, and you wouldnt fill so cheated at a loss

 

Also a lot of ppl under 100 battles have a 70+ win ratio

 

There a 20% chance of a win everytime you start a round, guaranteed.
As long as you give your 100%.

 

Sure, but remember, that includes the introductory bot battles, which seem to account for around a fifth of that total.
