Alignment of random item type and main boat(s)

Fixer here. I am thinking of switching class, NOT because of the new update but because obtaining green items feels freaking impossible.

I am level 26, will soon switch to mk5 and I am still using uncommon pulse since I haven't found a single rare one. Same goes for my blue items, I am still hoping for a rare turbo and I just got my 2nd overboost the other day.

And I bet that I dislike getting mostly red items as much as shooters dislike opening green items. I wish we could specify what is our primary boat or maybe we could receive items of a type suitable only for our highest level ships. I haven't seen this discussed in the forum yet, any thoughts?

Gathering green items is an uphill battle yes.

I've gathered 11 green item pieces since they introduced item pieces (and Im not exactly f2p). Thats in about 4(?) months.

Im pretty sure the logic is that all items are equally rare, so due to there being many more red items we get many more red item pieces.
Some hidden algorithm to slightly help finding green if your main boat is Fixer would be amazing.

 

Or the option to choose a weapon or support chest (which could be blue, yellow or green) even if it was a higher cost through pearls.

 

Yes, I believe that is how the system works. But my shop is overflown with yellow and blue items (propability = 6/35), whilst I have never seen a green item piece (probability = 4/35). Mind, I am not entirely f2p either and I would be more willing to spend if I could get better chances for green items

 

Aye, the addition of a 4th green item will help abit (assuming you can avoid to roll Duct Tape!)

I on the other hand managed to buy off a few rare and epic green pieces from the shop and I'm straight up F2P.
Think it is all random.

 

As someone who specializes in shooter I get ALOT of rare green items, I've got 3 epic repair boxes and 3 epic healing pulses. Meanwhile I can't upgrade my shooter weaons of I don't get them.

 

I have the same problem....My main ship is shooter mk4 but majority of the time I get items related to speeders and Fixers...I guess u get items opposite of what u use...Maybe It only depends on luck.

 

I haven't had as bad luck as you but it's still really frustrating that the only green epic I've gotten are 2x duct tapes. The same goes for rares where I have not found a single rare big shield, tesla bolt or standard cannon (other than reward one) out of the ~100 rares I've found or merged from pieces.

 

@Robos I've been playing long enough that my epic grenade only needs one more to take it to T5. I've never had a rare (or epic) big shield either. Luck can be a real bastard sometimes.

 

It will actually make it worse for me! The probability of getting a green will go from 3/34 to 4/35 but the probability of getting a green i need (since i won't play bolt until mk6) is now 50% instead that 66%

 

I only been playing this game about 2 months and I get a fair shares of rare and epic pieces. My problem is that when I combined them, I only got 1 useful weapon (Standard Mortar) from it. For combined pieces, I got 3 Bertas, ballpark, carronade, swift torpedo, 2 tapes, lube, and band-aid. All rares except for an Epic berta and ballpark. Every time I combined, I almost never got what I want. It's not like I just focus on 1 item. So I feel your pain @aKlfer.

 

Only true for the pieces gathered but not merged prepatch, aside from odds of a specific item changing to 1/35. You will gather pieces to make 4 green items in the same time as 3 would have taken before, where lady takes you from there will matter greatly but estimated time to acquire a specific item remains almost unchanged (still painfully long in the case of epics mind you)

 

I don't even bother with epics anymore ahah I would be happy to ever get the right rares to t4

 

That is a solid strategy if you arent planning of spending a serious amount of $$$.

 

LOL, all my bitching must have been heard, got 2 rare box from the chest this morning. Just have to grind for resources for the next 2 to 4 weeks to level them up then start the vicious cycle again.
