Saw a NML player yesterday down to 2500, 1 day after reset!
He had 0 damage so is obviously shredding infamy, so I played my ass off to give him +24 infamy as a favour from me and dropped a report :)

I still play ranked whenever there isn't an event on, but I get why many don't bother, there really isn't much point unless you're able to push for top 10.

Best I can do if I push* is somewhere in top 50, which has the exact same rewards as not pushing. I got no shot at top 10.
By pushing I would also restrict myself from working on quests with non-optimal kit, I've no chance of winning at near max personal infamy with a (rare) tri-torp or mortar equipped. You can't change ship from your main one.
And a few days/hours after you push all your work is gone in the reset anyway.

So, I've concluded that (for me personally) there really isn't any reason for pushing infamy in NM. I still play though, just not as much, and with more flexible setups.

(* Pushing meaning fleeting with a good player for long periods of time the second week of the rivalry, using your best (compatible) kit - and really playing to win. It also takes A LOT of work, playing many many matches with super slow matchmaking as you get higher - barely getting 16-20 inf for every win.)

Yeah. That blanket nerf was dumb. If yellows were complaining about too much agility, fix THEIR stuff not everyone else. Funny how defenders went from being crap before update to good enough after the update and then back to crap after the adjustments. Lol

Still funny that you made them win, but they almost definitely didn’t drop that much infamy in one day. That would take a very active tanker to achieve (sounds like an oxymoron but would be just a plain moron). Infamy reset doesn’t affect anyone below 4K in NML so they probably got over 4K two seasons ago and then have been dropping ever since (until they ran into you )

No offence taken! They do have a point, so that is why I said there should be some new goals for them to work for, so they have a new challenge.

I have heard this before, people float on purpose just before the reset or after, to get easier battles and win the season rewards.

    Regards,

I like the Enforcer to be less agile, but that does not mean other boats have to suffer as well.

    Just a little update here:
I just gained enough infamy to move up to ace3 and look at my competition this season.

How is it even possible to be in 54th place at the max infamy for my league?

Also, some of the NML at 4K infamy have actually left the game. Their accounts don’t get removed, so after the first reset you will see them at 4K always

It's simple: Infamy isn't a stable number. You can qualify for Ace III at 2300 at the beginning of one season, and by the end of the next you could be 1000, or 3800 still in Ace III but a month apart... who knows? Everyone seems to bounce around quite a lot. My Infamy has spanned 2000-3500 in the past couple of months, bouncing up and down, down and up, with the NML Reset.

Exactly, the NML reset... I never know if the players on my team are good players who have dropped infamy due to the reset or bad players who drop naturally. This greatly impacts the way I play. Half the time I can out damage a mk6 shooter in my mk5 speeder and the other half of the time I get one-shotted by an op shooter.

I rarely play ladder, basically do enough to complete quests. It's not because I'm trying to hack the reward system, it's because I'm bored of ladder and the matchmaking is average at best. At least the events tend to offer some variety.
