New event rewards speculation.

Yeah! This doesn't apply when others are getting better weapons by exploiting and you feel like left behind.

 

My prediction:

Ticket timers where you'll have to set your alarm every 4 hours to log in and use your tickets in order to get enough stars for the 12.5% chance of getting the legendary event perk you want - unless you're willing to spend money for tickets.

Obviously the matchmaking issues will still exist, so you'll have to manipulate your gear score to avoid being shafted out of tickets.

[If I'm correct, I'd suggest making one thread and pinning it at the top of the menu to funnel the tsunami of complaints about event MM into one place .. If you thought the complaining was bad now, just wait until players are losing tickets/perks.]

Oh, and no more legendary item pieces .. because allowing players to grind events for 6 hours to get a single legendary item piece (or 60 hours of match time for 10 pieces) is way too OP .. It's unfair for the ones that purchased their legendaries to have to compete against players with a single T3 or T4 legendary item.

 

Sadly many have not, I asked if they were proud of themselves cheating, they said yes or I don't care...as long as I get these shiny coins. (sorry the 'n' became a 't' in shiny, was a genuine typo. I have dry hands which don't react well with touch screens)

Tickets are the worst system ever, there are no upsides (as a player) to being limited to how much you can play the game. Some of the ads for other games advertise "play as much as you want", so I assume its a pretty normal thing to have in mobile games, which sucks.

They usually hype stuff up if it's different from the usual, so we'll have to wait for the additional details they were talking about. I'm really curious about what the new rewards are going to be, if they're worth completely replacing the coin system without testing it or anything.

 

I'm curious about new rewards as well. The use of the word new leads me to believe there will be new content to some degree or they would've just said different rewards. Or maybe they meant new rewards as in stuff we haven't seen in previous event rewards but I think pretty much everything has been available at some point.
We probably won't get an event description until later on this week maybe Wednesday or Thursday and even then it might not detail rewards.
I for one am impatient and don't like to wait lol.
Side note: I'd imagine player activity will be pretty low with the release of Black Ops 4 this weekend. Maybe they should've waited another week to start the new system.

 

In a way, we're all just a bunch of guinea pigs.

 

I wonder if this change to the rewards system is a result of the backlash to the higher cost prize crates that they tried a few weeks ago. It seems that they wanted to make prizes require more effort to achieve with the trade off being more control over the prize that we got (something often asked for by the community). That experiment didn’t go over well partly because it was too easy to compare the cost of prizes from one week to the next because they used the same currency (coins) and it just looked like an increase. By redesigning the rewards system the devs can engineer in any effort vs reward change that they need without it being as obvious to the general community.
